General overview
Private 2-bedroom villa complete with a beautiful pool and lush, manicured garden, an outdoor shower and bath, and views of rice paddies in Penestenan.
The master bedroom is spacious and sunny during the day; quiet and dark at night.
The private office features a beautiful tamarind wood table and ergonomic chair, extra monitors, and a treadmill desk. You can work and live in paradise!
Nearby you can practice yoga, eat healthy, delicious food, get daily massages, dance, heal and meditate. Plus, you’re 7 minutes from the center of Ubud.
Master Bedroom: The master bedroom comes with a beautiful, hand-carved 4-post queen-sized bed. The cabinets have been hand-painted by a local artisan.
During the night, the bedroom is quiet and ideal for sleeping because of the black-out curtains, firm mattress, and air-conditioning.
During the day, it's bright and sunny (if you want it to be) thanks to the large, sliding glass doors on two sides.
There's a 32-inch TV complete with cable television and Apple TV if you'd like to watch something.
Kitchen: If you prefer to eat at home, the kitchen is well-stocked. There’s a high-speed blender for making smoothies. A bean grinder and french press for making fresh coffee. All the pots, pans, and other cooking utensils you need for preparing the perfect meal. Hand-made bowls, plates, and other ceramics from a local artisan. A three-burner gas stove, a high-quality rice cooker for cooking quinoa, rice, etc., a toaster, and a new LG refrigerator. The cabinets are finished in the classic Balinese “white-washed” style.
Pool: Enjoy the beautiful 3 meter by 6 meter swimming pool surrounded by a fragrant garden filled with heliconia, calathea, frangipani, bougainvillea, lady of the night, and palm trees. The pool is regularly cleaned. It’s perfect for a morning dip or afternoon cool down. Two thick towels and an outdoor towel rack are nearby for drying off after you come out.
Dining Area: There’s a gorgeous two-person wooden dining table and chairs finished in the classic Balinese "white-washed" style.
Patio: There’s a comfortable lounge chair for reading, watching the stars, chatting on the phone, or catching a bit of sun. There’s also a high-quality yoga mat from Yoga Design Lab so that you can deepen your practice while you’re at the villa.
Bathroom: Pamper yourself in the large indoor bathroom with an outdoor shower and bathtub. You'll love showering outdoors in the privacy of your home under the sun or stars! The cabinets have been hand-painted by a local artisan as well to match the carved bathroom mirror.
Office (2nd Bedroom): Stay connected if you’d like from a quiet office filled with natural light and a beautiful view onto the rice paddies. The office is air-conditioned, which is nice so you’re not sweating while typing!
Inside the office you’ll find a high-quality, adjustable work chair to keep you ergonomically aligned. (After all, why come all the way to Bali to practice yoga, get massages, heal, etc. - and then wreck your body sitting in an uncomfortable position while you’re on the computer?!)
For writing your masterpiece there’s a beautiful tamarind wooden desk locally sourced here in Indonesia. There are also two large 2nd monitors from LG to reduce your eye strain. And best of all, there’s a custom-built treadmill desk for walking while you work!
Throughout the villa you have high speed, 20 mbs wi-fi. There’s a wi-fi hub to optimize the connection strength and speed.
Garden: When you walk into the villa you’re greeted by a beautiful statue of Ganesha, the Hindu elephant god. At the bottom of the statue is a goldfish pond which is elegantly lit at night. There’s a lawn chair which is perfect for sunning anytime of the day in the privacy of your garden.
Please note that breakfast is not included. There are terrific breakfast places and cafes nearby within walking distance.
If you would like someone to prepare fresh juices, shop for groceries, cook delicious meals, pick up items from the market, etc. while you are staying at the villa, then Made’s aunt, Ketut, is terrific. She is available for hire to help around the villa on a day-to-day basis. Ketut is super sweet, responsive, and a terrific cook. A full menu of what she can prepare can be provided on request.
You get full access to the property. One cabinet will be locked where I keep my personal belongings.
My local Balinese friend, Made, will be on-hand to greet you when you arrive. He’s incredibly helpful, and he speaks very good English. Made and his family are from Penestenan, and they live nearby.
If Made is unavailable to greet you, then someone else from his family will welcome you into the villa. They will give you your keys, help you get setup, and ensure that you are comfortable.
Made is available via WA during the daytime, so feel free to ask him anything! He is your point of contact while you’re staying at the villa.
Twice a week, Made comes to clean the villa. He will coordinate the cleanings with you ahead of time so as to not interrupt your activities. You can pay him to come more often if you’d like.
The property is located in the quiet Penestenan neighborhood of Ubud. There are world class restaurants, cafes, and spas within walking distance of the home.
Scooter is your best option. They're fun. The weather is perfect. And given that there are so many of them on the road, you don't have to worry about not being seen by car drivers like you would elsewhere in the world.
If you're not comfortable on a scooter, then you can also walk or hire a driver. A local taxi stand is less than a 5 minute stroll around the corner from the villa.
Scooter rental is available from Made and his family for a fair price. The best scooters in Bali right now are NMax from Yamaha. Made’s family has two of them for rent.
Airport pick-up and drop-off are also available. Made’s cousin, Wayan, is reliable and drives a nice Toyota SUV. He will pick you up from the airport, drop you off at the airport, or take you wherever you’d like to go.
The property is located in the lovely Penestenan neighborhood of Ubud. There are world-class restaurants, cafes, and spas within walking distance of the home.
You're outside of the hustle and bustle of the center of town. Yet you're just a short walk from some of the best places in Ubud like Zest, Alchemy, Bella, Karma House, Yellow Flower Cafe, La Pacha Mamma, Intuitive Flow, and more.

Overseas travel has been an important part of my life for a long time. My parents took my sister and I on a boat trip around the Baltic Sea in high school, and the travel bug was officially set. Since then I've had the opportunity to live on 5 continents, starting with a year studying abroad in Argentina.
In 2014 I sold most of my possessions to once again hit the road with some of my closest friends. We all own digital businesses, and we're fortunate to be able tot work from some amazing places worldwide.
In 2016 I first came to Bali thanks to a friend's invitation. What was meant to be a two month stay turned into seven. I found balance. And I didn't want to leave.
Nowadays I'm happy to share with you my favorite spots in Bali. I believe "The Island of the Gods" is well-earned!
