Some information about seasons in Alanya:
• Spring (March to May): This season is a blend of mild and warm. Early March sees average lows around 10°C, which then gradually climb to the low 20s°C by May. Rainfall is moderate early on, but by late spring, the wet days dwindle, paving the way for more sunshine and the perfect weather for coastal walks and outdoor writing sessions.
• Summer (June to August): Summer in Alanya is hot and dry. Temperatures regularly hover around 30°C, and can peak around 34°C in the hottest months of July and August. Nights are warm, too, rarely dropping below 23°C, making it ideal for late-night podcast recordings under the stars. Rain is almost non-existent, and the clear skies guarantee plenty of sun.
• Autumn (September to November): The heat begins to subside in autumn. September still feels like summer, with highs around 31°C, but by November, the days are cooler with highs around 20°C and lows potentially reaching 11°C. Rain gradually increases, especially in November, which can see around 80mm over the month, so it’s a good time to find a cozy spot to read or write as the rain patters outside.
• Winter (December to February): Winters are the mildest here, with January being the coolest month. Daytime temperatures average around 15°C, dipping to about 7°C at night. It’s the wettest season, with December and January each seeing up to 200mm of rain, providing a different, more introspective mood for your meditations or podcast episodes about embracing change and renewal.
While summer offers vibrant life and non-stop sunshine, it may be too busy and hot for some. The quieter, cooler spring and autumn provide a more conducive atmosphere for outdoor activities without the scorch of the summer sun, and the gentle winter offers a reflective, peaceful environment. Given your interests and activities, spring or autumn would likely offer the best balance of comfortable temperatures and reduced rainfall, making either a great choice for your stay in Alanya.
