Neighbourhood
We live in a quiet cul-de-sac.
We are 1/2 mile from everything you would need.
The main grocery store 1/2 mile to the left and the beach is 1/2 mile to the right. the are several restaurants in walking distance. And our favorite ice cream shop, DeNucci's is right at by the entrance of the neighborhood.
We also live on the Egan's Creek Greenway which makes for a great walk with all sorts of Florida wildlife. I walk the greenway several times a week. Many herons, deers, and turtles. I also see mama alligator mostly in the afternoon sunny in her spot behind the fence.
Nearest airport
Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)- 45 minutes
Orlando (MCO) 3 hours
If you are coming internationally it is usually a lot cheaper and less flights to fly into Orlando and rent a car. Makes for a fun trip to go to Disney World or Universal Studios for a few days then drive up to Amelia Island.
Getting Around
Use of car is negotiable.
To see extended city, a car is needed, but day-to-day relaxation can be done on foot/bike.
We do live half mile radius to everything that is needed grocery store, restaurants, shopping, Egan's Creek Greenway, and beach

I moved here in 1987 at age 12 with my parents. I am a nurse practitioner at a long-standing well established primary care and walk-in clinic here on the island.
My husband is a realtor.
