General overview
Our home was built in the 1960s and has been remodeled to fit our family's needs recently. The house is about 2,000 square feet (185 square meter) and includes 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an office/ guest room and an open concept kitchen/ dining area attached to a spacious living room and family room. It is our primary home and is very well maintained. The home is airy and light with a clean, minimalistic/ mid century modern style. The home is pet free and smoke free.
We live in a quite, residential neighborhood on a cul-de-sac, so there is limited car traffic on our street. We enjoy watching the sunrise in the morning from the living room with a nice cup of coffee and marveling in the sunset in the large swim spa under the orange tree.
The space
Main Level
There are two steps leading to the front door that opens into the living area including the living room/ den/ dining area and kitchen. The living area is separated from the private area of the house with a door.
There is one full bathroom on this main level (includes a bath tub) and two bedrooms. One bedroom includes a twin bed that's perfect for a child or adult. The other bedroom includes a comfortable full size bed that can accommodate 2 adults. This bedroom also has an attached bathroom with a toilet, 1 sink and shower.
Upstairs
From this level 8 steps lead to the master bedroom that includes a queen size bed and the attached bathroom with double sinks, a toilet and a large shower with a rain showerhead. There is a large window to watch the sunset from this room, and 2 remote controlled skylights to enjoy the cool CA nights.
Downstairs
6 stairs lead to the 4th bedroom and office/ guest room combo from the main floor. The bedroom has a comfortable full sized bed, suitable for two adults and offers a nice view of the back yard through the bay window. There is a futon in the office that can be used as a bed, if needed.
Backyard
The backyard can be accessed from the main floor through sliding glass doors and there is also an exit to the patio from the lower level. A dining area and outdoor seating can be used almost year around to enjoy quite evenings and the large swim spa that offers fun and exercise for kids and adults alike.
Guest access
Guest have access to the entire house. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook/ bake/ toast/ air fry or microwave and has a dishwasher as well. There are plenty of clean sheets, towels and toiletries in the linen closet to make you feel home.
The laundry machine and dryer are in the garage. We also have a few exercise equipment in the garage (weights/ treadmill/ stationary bike) available for use, although nothing fancy.

Neighbourhood
We live in the best neighborhood, no joke!
Quite street with easy access to our downtown (5-10mins walk) that includes quint shops, great coffee and an eclectic selection of great restaurants. There is plenty of shopping within a 10-15 drive as well, if that's what you're into. The Pleasanton Ridge nature preserve offers miles and miles of hiking opportunities and a gorgeous view.
The best part of our neighborhood is its proximity to so many different experiences that are so unique to California. Our town is located in the intersection of two major highways, providing you easy access to different experiences within a few hours by car. You can do wine tasting one day, go to the beach, ski or see giant sequoias on the next.
San Francisco is about 45 mins with car and Sacramento is about 2 hours, if you want to explore large cities.
If you want to see giant sequoia trees, you can drive to Muir Woods (1 hour) or to Yosemite (3 hours), one of the most beautiful natural parks in the US.
Wine enthusiasts can visit numerous wineries in Livermore (10 mins) or the Napa region (1 hour).
Northern CA beaches are simply stunning, although the ocean is rather cold year around (at least for me). My favorites are Muir Beach and Santa Cruz, both about 1 hour by car.
And if you're after snow, the Sierra Nevada mountains have you covered. The closest ski resorts are Bear Valley and Dodge Ridge, both super family friendly. There are also several snow tubing options within 2 hours of drive. Lake Tahoe, although a bit further (3 hours) is simply spectacular year around. Great skiing during the winter (and sometimes even in the spring) and boating during the summer months.
Getting to my home
I recommend renting a car at the airport. It's the easiest way to get around.
Nearest airport
Oakland International Airport - 30 mins by car
San Jose Mineta International Airport - 35 mins by car
San Francisco International Airport - 1 hour by car
Getting around
Car is the best way to get around, although downtown and grocery shopping are within walking distance.
