General Overview
Our Vancouver Island condo is on a golf course in East Courtenay with a view from every room.
The neighbourhood is quiet with a bike path nearby.
Access to an abundance of ocean beaches, whale watching, air tours, stunning bays, amazing waterfalls, tubing on the river, mountain biking and hiking trails is at your fingertips tips. Day trips on the huge island offer an abundance of extra exciting adventures, including a visit to Victoria, the garden city. Mount Washington for winter skiing is 40 minutes away.
Highlights: Seal Bay (a must); Kye Beach and Kin Beach; Nymph Falls; (nearby); Qualicum and English River Falls (both a short day trip away); Oyster River Potholes; Cumberland (artistic town and mountain biking); Filberg artisan and music festival (early August long weekend); salmon fishing in Campbell River.
The valley offers a slow pace for a relaxing vacation, or live it up, see it all. Either way, you will want to come back.
Don’t feel like cooking? Did I mention that the valley houses foodies with many restaurants, markets and farm outlets?
If shopping is on your agenda, you will be impressed with our funky downtowns, in Courtenay and Comox, adjoining communities.
The Space
The condo is large with wide open spaces. It has a huge master bedroom with a king size bed; a second bedroom with a queen size bed that also contains a crib; a large single bed in the toy room and a pull out queen mattress for extra sleeping.

A large grocery store and services are nearby.
Getting to my home
We live on Vancouver Island with ferry service from Powell River (the Sunshine Coast). There are two ferries from Vancouver to Nanaimo which is approximately a 11/2 hour drive to Courtenay. These ferries travel from Horseshoe Bay and Tsawwaassen.
Nearest airport
The airport is 15 minutes away, and if you would prefer flying from harbour to harbour, Harbour Air flies into Comox from Vancouver (and a few other ports) from April to October.
Getting Around
It is especially easy to get around by car in Courtenay/Comox. Bus service is limited.
Bernadine's home is very spacious apartment with large balcony providing gorgeous view of Crown Isle resort and golf course all day long, with fantastic sunsets. In touch with nature and yet very centrally located and well connected to all major roads in the area. The community is very enjoyable for walking due to beautiful landscaping, almost feels like a botanical garden. This place is perfect for any kind of travellers but must be a paradise stay for golf lovers. We enjoyed every moment. The apartment has great access with easy parking, super nice neighbors and is very conveniently furnished.
There’s always a "first" when it comes to PLU experiences. For us, this was our first local exchange (just a 3 hr drive away) on Vancouver Island and we loved it. Staying at Bernadine and Neil’s home was a real treat. Their condo is beautiful and in a very classy community. It was very homey and had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed our morning coffee and tea on their balcony with the quiet and the serene view of the Crown Isles golf course just a few feet away.
Bernadine and Neil are such a nice couple. It was a pleasure getting to know them and planning out our exchange. Communication was seamless. We are so grateful that they were able do an exchange on the weekend that we requested so we could attend our family event in Courtenay /Comox. We highly recommend doing exchanges with Bernadine and Neil. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
What a gorgeous, relaxing time I had at Bernadine's home. She was so nice to communicate with and everything at her place was easy, comfortable, beautiful and convenient. I will miss waking up to golf course sunrises :)
Bernadine’s home was lovely and a perfect place to stay while skiing at Mount Washington! We were very comfortable and appreciated the special touches , including some yummy chocolates.
Staying here was a real treat and I would highly recommend!
Bernadineand her family were great guests! Communication was very smooth and effective and they left my house in perfect condition. Also, they were extra kind and willing to overnight elsewhere upon return so that we could have an extra night to celebrate our wedding anniversary ❤️
Bernadine and family were fabulous! They were communicative and reliable. The house was left sparkling 🤩
The best part was the lovely note signed by each member of the family. A lovely momento 🥰
We would welcome them again 🤗
Bernadine and Neil were wonderful guests in our home. They arrived right at the planned time and the handover was effortless. They treated our home like it was their own and everything was perfect.
We would be very happy to welcome them come back for another exchange with us any time.
Natalia and Jaro’s home is spacious and beautiful in a lovely neighbourhood. All communications with Natalia were excellent and timely. A great experience all around!
Natalia left our home in great shape.
Gabriella & Jon’s home was wonderful in every way. The home is comfortable and uniquely decorated with so many features. The huge deck provides a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and mountains. It’s majestic.
Our hosts were kind and thoughtful, and the communication was excellent.
Highly recommend.
Staying at Winne’& Les’s place was an awesome experience. The lovely condo was accompanied by a stunning view. As hosts, Winnie and Les couldn’t have been more inviting.
Excellent all around.
Cathy was an awesome guest. Her communications were prompt and her feedback was so considerate.
She left our place sparkly clean, and she threw in lovely comments about the ways in which she enjoyed her time at our place.
I’d highly recommend her.
