Neighbourhood

Bergen is located exactly between countryside, forest, dunes and the beach (at app. 7 km.). The area offers plenty of options for hiking, cycling, golf, tennis, horseback riding and even skiing (not in summer). At 400 meters you'll find a biological farm (the same you're looking at from the terrace) with a shop selling veggies, meat and dairy. You're also close to Amsterdam. Trainstation at 7 km. Trains bring you every 15 minutes in 30 minutes to the center of Amsterdam.

Getting around

The centre of the village with lots of shopping and restaurants is at app. 2 km. distance. Most logical is walking there, however bicycles are available. You can also use these for visiting the beach (takes app. 30 minutes by bike). The nearest trainstation is in Alkmaar at app. 7 km. (30 minutes by bike, 10 minutes by car). Good carparking facilities. Buses leave from the centre of Bergen (app. 2 km.).

We have no specific destinations in mind yet. However, we do love the sun, exciting cities and vast silence areas. Since we are retired we are mainly travelling outside the holiday seasons.
