General overview
My 8-year-old son and I would love to welcome you to our beautiful part of the world in sunny Queensland.
We live just inside the Gold Coast area of Australia in a much-loved destination for people travelling to Australia. Our home is situated almost halfway between Brisbane and Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast and only a 2-minute drive to the major freeway that connects the two.
It's every child's dream destination as we are so close to the major theme parks.
We are also only 20-30 mins drive from beautiful beaches.
Our home is set in the lovely quiet residential area of Jacobs Ridge Estate, which is safe, friendly and only a 5 min walk to a major supermarket and small village stores.
Ormeau is growing due to its proximity to the two major cities but is still far enough away from all the craziness of the city areas.
We have Westfields a major shopping Centre with restaurants, picture theatre and outdoor kids' area just 10 minutes down the road at Coomera and an even larger Shopping Centre about 14 minutes to the North towards Brisbane. So, anything you want, or need is a short ride away.
Within an hour's drive there are National parks, Tambourine Mountain and many beaches, Markets and things to see and do. We really are in the heart of it all in both directions.
The space
We have a large open planned modern 4-bedroom split level home. Upon entry you will see 3 stairs which lead up into the hallway and toward the main area of the house.
Off the main hallway we have a large theatre room where you can kick back and watch movies on Netflix, Stan, Prime or Disney channels.
We have two bathrooms, one at the front of the house as an ensuite to the main bedroom and one at the rear of the house where the other 3 rooms are situated.
Off of the hall is a large open plan kitchen (including walk in pantry) dining and lounge area which opens up onto an outdoor undercover alfresco area overlooking the pool area.
You can open up the whole area with two large bifold doors on either side of the room.
Our pool is situated in the heart of the property, and you have visibility from every room surrounding that area. Perfect if you have middle aged kids that want to swim whilst you are inside prepping meals etc
The outdoor area is lovely to sit out and enjoy a coffee, wine or your meals as you relax by the pool. On cooler nights (not that we get many) you can close down the blinds and it is all covered in.
There is a BBQ for you to enjoy if you prefer to cook outside.
There is room for kids to play basketball in the small, grassed area or just run around or a 1-minute walk at the end of our street is a large Basketball court with tennis courts which is safe and clean situated on a small nature reserve.
We do not wear our shoes inside the house and would prefer that our guests do the same. There is a designated area at the front entry to leave them.
We also do not allow smoking or vaping inside our home, however we don't mind if you do outside.
I do not request a cleaning fee from guests unless it is back-to-back bookings where I am unavailable to ensure everything is cleaned thoroughly re bathrooms, toilets etc.
And lastly, our main bedroom and ensuite will only be offered if there are a large number of guests at any one time. This is because we will store a lot of our personal items in there and also to save adding on a cleaning cost.

Neighbourhood
We live in a beautiful tree lined safe and friendly neighbourhood.
Approximately 1 minutes' walk at the end of my street is a small playground for young children which includes a fenced in basketball and tennis court area which is set on a small reserve.
A short bike ride away you will find other parks and reservation areas which include cycling trails or nice running tracks.
It is close to local shops and public transport (buses)
2 mins drive to the major freeway (M1) that connects Brisbane and Gold Coast.
We have Zarraffa's Coffee house, KFC, Hungry Jacks and a brand-new McDonalds, as well as Sushi train and other types of restaurants all within 5-10 mins walk from our home.
Getting to my home
We are situated halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
We are a 2-minute drive from the main freeway (M1) which will take you to both Brisbane or Broadbeach centre (Surfers Paradise)
Trains - The Gold Coast City Line and Brisbane Airport Line both run directly through our train station at Ormeau. (7 min drive from our house)
The Brisbane City Airport train runs directly from inside the Brisbane Airport precinct and takes around 1hr 15mins passing through our station at Ormeau.
Bus stops are just outside the shopping centre which is 5 mins walk away.
If you had a hire car it would be a lot easier to get out and about however it is still easy to get to the Gold Coast or Brisbane without one if you wanted to Uber/taxi to the train station.
We are a 5-minute walk to Coles supermarket and small shopping complex.
We have two bicycles to get around on, however one is a child's bike suitable to up to 10 years old.
Although I would prefer not to exchange vehicles just due to high-risk insurance, I would be open to discussion if agreements were made re excess claims and for short trips within 100km.
