We love the light that our many windows and skylights provide. We have both an outdoor hot tub and an indoor steam shower that are amazing after a good hike or just to relax. The floor plan in our home is very open, allowing for easy conversation: it affords connection without demanding it. We are currently enjoying our somewhat newly remolded kitchen as we cook more, and our home fitness space.
The space
There is one master bedroom with bathroom and a king bed. The tow other bedrooms are set up for other uses. One is a home office and yoga room, while the other has a single bed and fitness equipment. We do have single mattresses and pads for these rooms. I imagine this set up is good for a couple or a family with children who are willing to sleep on mattresses on the floor. There is also a queen size sofa couch on the main floor.
Guest access
There are two steps from the driveway to the front deck. The main living area and a half bath are on the main floor. The bedrooms and two full bathrooms are on the second floor.
Notes
There is a deck out the back with a grill and hot tub.

Neighbourhood
The area is a family friendly, established subdivision. It is on the south side of town with easy access to the Seward Highway.
Getting to my home
The best way to get to our home is to fly into the Anchorage Airport and then hire a ride or rental car. Anchorage is not a pedestrian friendly town. The public transportation is very limited.
Nearest airport
The airport is approximately a twenty minute drive away.
Getting around
Guests will need a car. The home is in walking distance of a major grocery store, drug store, and basic conveniences. Beyond that, a car is needed. It is a twenty drive to downtown Anchorage.

Our family includes a retired attorney and an almost-retired teacher, as well as grown children. We are long time Alaskans with three generations in Anchorage -
parents, ourselves, and two of our three sons.
Every day we feel grateful and amazed that we live in such an amazing and beautiful place. Honestly, Anchorage doesn't have much to offer, but its proximity to everything else makes it a great place to live. In less than an hour, we can reach the mountains to hike and climb: something we enjoy in both summer and winter. The town's edge is literally surrounded by ski slopes, biking trails, and paddleboard trails. Although we love our home, we look forward to exploring more of the world through PLS.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
