Neighbourhood
The "neighborhood" is what is locally known as a "subdivison," this one called Hawaiian Acres. It is a large area of 3-acre lots, over 4000 in all. The roads are laid out in a grid, and most are not paved. Our area has no public water, sewer, or electricity. We harvest our water from the rain, produce our own electricity with solar panels, and process our waste into a cesspool. We take our rubbish to a county facility. It's a fairly "hands-on" lifestyle.
