General overview

Welcome to the narrowest part of the Netherlands, directly bordering Germany and only a few kilometers away from Belgium! Making this area very diverse to experience. The house is in close proximity to the Dutch hillside and national parks in also Germany and Belgium such as the ardennes, de kempen and vulkaneifel (30m to 1h drive). But also Brunsummerheide and the Maasplassen are even closer options to enjoy the dunes, woods and water. Also this area is well known for its many abbies, castles, local breweries, hiking and biking trails, the caves, thermal sources and a relaxed atmosphere. Nearby cities such as the historical Maastricht and Aachen, the more modern Roermond (with is shopping centre) and Düsseldorf are in near proximity and offer a variety of history, culture and modern vibe The house is situated directly (2minute walk) to a forest which is shared with Germany. So you can pass the border by just enjoying the nature surrounding, such as the lake. The old town of Sittard also offers a variety of good food, kind people, and is only a 15min walk, same as to the central station. For example, the train will take you in 15min to nearby Maastricht or Roermond
