What originally brought us to Taos was the world-class skiing and unique culture. Taos Ski Valley is our favorite place to ski in the world, and it is still a bit of an undiscovered mountain.
What we love about our house is the location. It's between the town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley. The house is situated on a dirt road on the side of a mountain, with 1,000 acres of private land, including access to waterfalls, trails, and a 12k foot peak behind the house. The house has huge windows throughout, a private back deck with a sauna, and amazing sunset views. Lying in bed watching the sunset and sunrise or waking up in the middle of the night to look up and see a sky full of stars in the window above the main bed is a magical experience.
The space
The house is on .9 acres of land, a long lot, with unobstructed views. The house is 3 stories tall and there are lots of steps, but the views -- the views are why we fell in love with the house. There are huge windows throughout the main floor, sliding glass doors in the two downstairs bedrooms, and the most amazing views in the loft, along with a king-sized bed.
Plus there are monkey bars in the living room, heated floors, and everything you need for an enchanted getaway.
Guest access
In the winter we recommend AWD or 4-wheel drive in case there's a big storm.

Neighbourhood
The house is on a quiet dirt road, located between two trailheads that are open year round. We have spent many hours walking along the road, exploring the trails, x-c skiing on the road when there is fresh snow, and enjoying the woods around the house.
Getting to my home
The closest airport is in Taos and is serviced by JSX.
The closest large airport is 2.5 hours away in Albuquerque. The ABQ airport is very easy to navigate and the drive to Arroyo Seco is fairly easy, and quiet beautiful once you get north of Espanola.
Nearest airport
Albuquerque is 2.5 hours away.
Getting around
You can walk the two miles down to the quaint & quirky town of Arroyo Seco where you'll find some delicious restaurants and artsy shops. There are no sidewalks on our road though, so be cautious. Most people drive slowly on the dirt road. It's also an easy drive into Seco, Taos, and Taos Ski Valley.
