General overview

We adore our home and community that feels like an escape, yet only 20 minutes from Vancouver! Situated on the slopes of Mount Seymour, every room has a beautiful view. For the last few years we've completely updated the perennial gardens and there's even a spring-fed pond with fish! A large patio with outdoor seating and a large second story balcony overlooking the backyard make for a lot of outdoor eating and relaxing! Inside, the layout is truly special thanks to an Italian architect that created a space that flows with generously appointed rooms. Our kitchen has incredible counter space making family dinners a joy to prepare. Each room has been lovingly designed.

The space

Our home has the ground and second floors available to you. Stepping in from the main entrance you'll find a double-height entry with soaring ceilings and a big closet. You'll then see the gorgeous living room (also with cathedral ceiling) with a new fireplace and views to the park. Descending two steps to the dining room (recently renovated), you'll then flow into the enormous kitchen and family room, overlooking the perennial gardens and the trails accessed through our back gates. Upstairs you'll find a master bedroom (king bed) with ensuite with access to the upstairs balcony. You'll also discover two bedrooms (both queen beds) and a bathroom with jack and jill sinks and separate toilet/tub/shower room. A fourth bedroom is being used as a home office.

Guest access

You'll need to be able to utilize the stairs to access the second floor.

Neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood is a friendly, safe and caring community with lots of families around! The community is called Blueridge and is in the District of North Vancouver. We have a local coffee shop (United Strangers), a park with playground, tennis courts and trails at the bottom of our street as well as 100's of kilometres of trails accessed from our backyard. Just 10 minutes away to the east you'll find the famous village of Deep Cove where you can kayak, paddleboard, swim and enjoy meals out in quaint restaurants and do some local shopping. Approximately 30 minutes to the west, you can take ferries from Horseshoe Bay to the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island. About 1.5 hours away is the world-famous resort of Whistler-Blackcomb.

Getting to my home

From overseas, the closest airport is Vancouver International. You can either take public transit or a taxi to North Vancouver. Taxi ride is about 45-55 minutes, transit a bit longer. The second option is Seattle but it's a 3 hour drive, plus the US/CAN border crossing.

Nearest airport

YVR (Vancouver International).

Getting around

There are decent bus routes accessible within a 7-10 minute walk. We are also open to swapping our car (SUV that seats 5)

Jennifer

It's nice to meet you! We're an active and creative family of four who absolutely love spending time in nature and really getting to know the places we travel to. Our kids are teens which is making meaningful travel more possible now. We are bilingual (French/English) and are excited to learn other languages. As avid cooks, our ideal travel involves market shopping and enjoying local foods. Our daughter is deeply involved in musical theatre so catching local productions is a must for us! For my son, it's checking out live music. My husband and I are avid birdwatchers and always travel with binoculars.
