Katrina
Hi there, my name is Katrina, I live with a small terrier in the island town of Enniskillen. I’m a sailor and paddler and living in this lake-side town, access to the outdoors is important to me.

View from Lough Navar with Lough Erne below and the Donegal coast in the far left. Lough Erne has over 200 islands and this stretch was used by Allied float planes as a runway during WWII as the Atlantic Ocean is only 4miles form the end of the Lake.
Florencecourt House, Forest and Estate, open to the public to view, and walk around including the most beautiful walled garden with orchard, roses and restored victorian greenhouses and kitchen garden.
Aqua paddling around the island town of Enniskillen, going past the 12th Century castle. Great fun for all the family. Canoes and paddleboards are also available for hire.
Marble Arch Caves are open almost all year, and in summer are accessed by a boat which is thrilling. Walk the rest of the public caves on a guided tour to view large stalagmites and stalactites that changes each year in this live cave system.
There are 200 islands on Lough Erne!! Guided boat tours are offered by a number of companies including private tailored tours to the scheduled and group tours which offer more value for money. Tour the island of Enniskillen, or visit Devenish Island's 9th century round tower. Day boat hire is also available where you select your destinations and steer the boat yourself!
Only one of three in Ireland the 9th Century (yes its over 1000yrs old) round tower on Devenish Island is accessible by scheduled boat tour and on private boat excursions.
Castle Coole is a National trust property open to the public for tours of the house and scenic grounds. the guided tours are hugely informative and interesting showing life as it used to be for the family and the staff.
The Cuilcagh Mountain Boardwalk aka the Stairway to Heaven is a superb half day walk through the unique environment of the Cuilcagh Mountain Geopark. The view from the top takes in four counties and reaches the sea to the west.
The old Buttermakret in Enniskillen is supporting new life now filled with artists and crafts people and the wonderful Rebecca's coffee shop it is a hugely worthwhile visit in Enniskillen town centre
The Wild Atlantic Way is 45mins-1hr away depending on the beach you choose. This beach is beside the village of Mullaghmore, a great walk any day of the year and home to sailing and all kinds of watersports in the summer. Coffee and great food available in the many places in the village
The Wild Atlantic Way is 45mins-1hr away depending on the beach you choose. This beach is Streedagh, a rural location with no services but only a couple of miles from the village of Grange. A great beach for surfers and kite-surfers and walkers every day of the year.
Rossnowlagh is a favourite in our house. Its a long stretch of sand in a beachside community with lots of second homes and mobile homes. Its busy by Irish-standards, but its so wide and long it never seems crowded. a couple of places to eat, a hotel on the waterfront and a monastery to visit if you chose!
