Neighbourhood

Constantia is a upmarket leafy residential suburb set in a beautiful valley surrounded by wine farms and the mountain. Locals enjoy walking their dogs in the mornings and evenings. The area is full of people walking, running and cycling all week in mornings and evenings. There is a green belt (a public open space) a 3 minute walk down our road. There are many world class fine restaurants within a 3-10 minute drive of our home. Constantia is known for its many internationally acclaimed wine estates. Klein Constantia Wine Estate was voted December 2025 in the top 50 World’s Best Vineyards. https://www.worldsbestvineyards.com/list/Individual-Awards Other wine estates include : Groot Constantia Estate Buitenverwachting Steenberg Uitsig Constantia Glen Eagles Nest Silvermist The area is in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. You can take a 7 minute walk from our house to the Groot Constantia Estate, the oldest wine farm in the Western Cape, since 1685. There are plenty of excellent restaurants close by and on the wine estates, as well as the local cafes and coffee shops. Our home is well positioned to visit both the City (V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Robben Island) and the Deep South ( Cape Point Nature Reserve, Boulders Beach, Silvermine Nature Reserve) There is plenty of mountain biking with jeep tracks and technical trails in the Tokai Mountain Bike area which is a 10 minute ride from our home. There are also “green belts” which are multi-use local trails for walking, running and cycling. These are flatter and easy to navigate. The Bike Park at Uitsig is a 2 minute drive from our house where you can rent bikes and e-bikes. https://bikeparkatuitsig.co.za/ We are a 5 minute drive to Constantia Nek for hiking in the Table Mountain National Park. To visit the cable way to the top of Table Mountain you will need to drive to the City. Be sure to research your route before just heading into the mountain, as the area is vast and weather can change very suddenly. Hiking and mountain experience is recommended otherwise rather use a local guide. We have 2 golf courses within a 5-10 minute drive from our house. Steenberg Golf Club West Lake Golf Course Clovelly Golf Course is a 20 minute drive over the Ou Kaapse Weg or along the coastal road past Muizenberg and Kalk Bay. There are 2 high end convenience/shopping centres within 2km of our house. Nearest airport

CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is 25-30 minutes drive without traffic to our home.

Getting Around

It is best to hire a car while visiting Cape Town. This way you’ll be able to enjoy the many sights and places Cape Town has to offer. Uber works well here for going out in the evening if you prefer not to drive at night. There is no public transport system I would recommend. I would say to avoid the local taxis and bus service. There are many great private tour operators who can do around the Peninsula tours or to the Stellenbosch winelands.
