The space
A happily lived and personally styled home just for you where normally me and my two children live. Those who can appreciate the dedication and arty details of a passionate owner, will absolutely love this place. Three bedrooms are at your disposal; one with a queen size bed (180 x 200 cm), and two others both with a medium sized bed (140 x 200 cm). Please note 140 x 200 beds are only suitable for two guests who are comfortable sleeping with each other because of the limited width.
I am a designer and former professional DJ. You are welcome to enjoy my hi-end Bower & Wilkins sound system with sub woofer, the one and only classic Technics record player and a hue vinyl collection. Of course be gentle with this :) Movie lovers will enjoy the Sony Bravia 4K television with built-in Chromecast to enjoy all of your favorite streaming services, movie rentals, apps and even music if you prefer.
Our kitchen is well equipped with a regulars such as a dishwasher, oven, fridge and large freezer. Barista-minded guests will love the Quickmill espressomachine, fresh coffee grinder and free use of Fairchain sourced coffee. Sustainable minds will appreciate the MySoda bubbled watermaker, which eliminates the need of buying plastic bottles of soda. All the other amenities for cooking a chef level dinner - like a blender, good knives, a kitchen aid machine and premium oven are available.
Working abroad? You have the choice of working either in the cozy spacious living room, or in the room upstairs which has an excellent second private workspace. Please bring your own workstation.
Because the house is a real family home, personal belongings wil be present. This makes for an authentic travel experience and you will feel like a resident.

Neighbourhood
Our street is very social and safe and you'll interact with friendly neighbours for sure. Feel free to talk or say hi. It is highly appreciated in our tiny community of like minded people.
Charming historic neighborhood with houses dating from 1900 - 1920. Village like atmosphere while super centrally located in Utrecht.

Getting around
You can use my bike for free, explore the city walking or use buses and trains to get anywhere in the country.
Located in a quiet cobbled street with no drive thru cars traffic. 5 minute walk to the old (dating from the year 1122) city center. Nice park at 100 m. You can reach a lovely forest by hike or bus in approx. 15 minutes.
All Dutch cities and touristic highlights are easily accessible by train. Utrecht Central station is the largest transport hub in the country and has trains in all directions every 15 minutes. You get to the train station using a bike (10 minutes) or bus (15 minutes). The bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the house. In and around the city it is most convenient to move yourself by bike, like Dutch people do :)
Parking is paid only. You can park you car right in the street, but it I’ll cost you € 6,50 per hour (mo-sat 09-23 hrs). There’s also a car parking garage at 6 minutes walking distance which has day cards for sale at € 25 per day or € 3,50 per hour (all days 07-23 hrs).

Sven
My name is Sven, I live in the beautiful city Utrecht, located right in the heart of The Netherlands, 30 minutes from Amsterdam. I am a father of two lovely teenagers. I work mainly as an independent communication strategist, designer and copywriter. Love vintage design and try to live sustainable. I like to be outdoors hiking, visiting concerts and arts. Music is the soundtrack of my life as I used to be a professional DJ.
I am a friendly, open minded, adventurous person, but also serious and respectful. Looking forward to welcome you in my home, while I stay in yours.
