A family home in a great neighborhood, with easy access to downtown Washington, DC and the surrounding area. Perfect place for kids. Private parking with the option of using our car.
The space
There's a primary bedroom with a king bed, a kids room (two twin-size beds), a study, and an apartment in the basement with additional places to sleep. There's a small yard with parking. We are open to making our plug-in hybrid car available (with optional car seats) as well. The home has 3 full bathrooms as well as a half bathroom on the main floor.
Our bookshelves are stocked with books for kids and grown-ups alike. We have a dedicated art area for kids (which grown-ups can enjoy as well!). The TV on the main floor is a projector system - it's fun for watching movies, shows, and sports (and hides away easily as well). Our couch can transform into a "movie lounger" for family movie nights.
Guest access
Walking up stairs are needed to access any part of the home other than the basement.

Neighbourhood
The Mt Pleasant neighborhood is a fantastic community - it was literally just named the coolest neighborhood in DC and one of the coolest in the world! (See article linked below) With a weekly farmers market and a lots of stores on Mt Pleasant Avene, everything is in walking distance. The National Zoo (free admission!) is also within walking distance. We recommend Purple Patch, the Washington Post's restaurant of the year - their breakfast sandwiches and ube ice cream are amazing.
Public transportation is available and it's an easy drive down Rock Creek Parkway to the major DC sights. It is also a block away from Rock Creek Park itself - one of the few places in DC with access to downtown and nature all in one.
There is a small playground two blocks away, and larger playgrounds at the school 5 blocks away. (Our home is actually in the neighborhood to the east of where the map shows.)
The nearby highways (and rail line) also enable convenient weekend trips to Baltimore, Richmond, Philadelphia, and even New York City.
