Victorian Flatbush is a gorgeous, historical neighborhood in Brooklyn. The apartment overlooks a beautiful tree-lined street with Victorian homes. Because the houses below are quite a few stories down, from the window in the summer it looks like you live in a park. In the winter, the beautiful sunsets and a view of the NYC buildings in the distance are a delight.
The space
There is a beautiful kitchen with stainless steel appliances. I love cooking and have some nice pots including cast iron pans. The open floor plan dining and living area has a large wooden table and chairs, a sofa, and a TV. The master bedroom has a queen bed and dresser. The smaller room is set as an office space with a desk and monitor (there is also a pull-out bed in the study.) The apartment is decorated farmhouse style with exposed brick and wood. There's an open bookcase with lots of books. Please note the photos are a bit outdated and the furniture is now different - I will try to update shortly.

Neighbourhood
It's a beautiful neighborhood to walk around - quiet with great bars, restaurants, and cafes within walking distance. A longer walk (around 25 minutes) or a short subway ride away to the Ditmas Park area where there are lots of incredible ethnic restaurants, cafes, book stores, library, a Sunday farmers market and more. It's an artsy, eclectic neighborhood that represents the best vibrancy of Brooklyn.
Getting to my home
Flights to JFK & LGA are best but Newark is fine too, from there you can take an Uber to my home. I do not recommend getting a car because parking is difficult around here and public transportation is quite good.
Nearest airport
JFK & LGA are both around 30 minutes away
Getting around
You can walk to get anything you need locally (supermarket, coffee shops, cafes, bars, restaurants.) There are lots of public transportation options to go to other Brooklyn Neighboorhoods. Prospect Park, Brighton Beach, and the Botanical Gardens are beautiful oasis's nearby. It's only a 30 minute subway ride to Manhattan.

My name is Mina. I am a native New Yorker. I'm an entrepreneur and writer. I own a gymnastics school in NYC. I work remotely for the most part. I have managers who run the school in person and I do the administrative computer work. I love nature, being outdoors, traveling, reading and writing. I'm working on a novel and looking to travel to places with writing communities and beautiful nature to get inspired.
