General overview
Lemon House is on a quiet lane in the village of Prinilas in north west Corfu. It has a large open plan ground floor with a safe, enclosed south facing verandah and views over Swallow Mountain in one direction and the sea and Albanian mountains in the other.
Lemon is ready for visitors! We don't live in it - we make it available to friends and family and now our new friends in PLU! It's furnished with towels, bedlinen etc and ready for your holiday unpacking.
Close by is Agios Giorgos beach (5 minute drive) and Arillas Beach (25-30 min drive). At Arillas you can find Colibri Farm, where Colibri Spirit Festival and Agape Zoe take place. There are boat hires and plenty of other activities and If you are interested in holistic living, there is a large community of likeminded people in the area and regular events such as ecstatic dance at Soundgarden, meditation at Buddha Hall, and regular varied events at Colibri Farm.
The space
You enter the traditional front door straight into the large (11m x 6m/35 ft x 20) light and spacious living space. It has many windows but also shutters so you can reduce the light as you wish. Long comfortable traditional sofa and chairs, TV and at the other end of the room a sitting area for reading etc and the kitchen with cooker (induction hob - a little old fashioned but it all works!), cupboards, fridge/freezer. Upstairs 3 bedrooms - all with full height ceilings. Master bedroom is the width of the house; orange and blue bedrooms are next to each other across the landing.
There is a bath and shower above, sink, toilet and bidet. Downstairs is another toilet and sink with washing machine.
There is plenty of storage space in every bedroom. Sheets, towels, blankets etc in cupboard in master bedroom.
Two of the mattresses are organic and medium firm, suitable for those with sensitivities. The third is firmer but there is an optional bamboo mattress topper.
The water in the house is filtered by reverse osmosis.
The house has a balcony the length of the house (with washing line) plus a large patio with table for 6 people, bench and chairs. It's a sun trap, looking across a wild garden to Swallow Mountain beyond. The villagers are friendly and international as well as Greek - more information as needed.
Guest access
Not suitable for wheelchairs or frail people as there are steps in and out of the house and glossy floors which can be slippery for unsteady feet.
Notes
There are notes on the house which we can provide at any time. These include contacts in emergencies or just for fun and places to visit, etc. It's a 20 minute walk down the hill to Pagi, which in winter has the 007 bar (so called because they filmed a car chase for 'You Only Live Twice' there. Jimmy and Eleni run it and are lovely. Most people speak excellent English. In summer there are endless choices of bars, tavernas etc including in Pagi Alexandra's cafe where she sells lovely things made by local craftspeople.

Neighbourhood
The village is wonderfully quiet apart from the odd dog and chicken vocalising. Villagers are friendly. Beyond the village it is an 8 minute drive to Agios Giorgios which has a beautiful, curving, deep sandy beach. It's never too crowded but families and couples come mostly from April to October. There is boat hire there and Porto Tiimoni, a twin beach a short ride away which has become very famous. Many other places to visit - Angelokastro, monastery on a cliff; Paleokastritsa generally, Corfu Town his historic and beautiful.
Getting to my home
Airport in Corfu Town is next to the town and a 35 minute drive to Prinilas.
Nearest airport

Getting around
Ideally you will hire a car. We can help you find a good rental company. Otherwise there are buses most days from Pagi and 3 times a week from Prinilas. Bikes, scooters etc also for hire in Agios Giorgios

Patricia
We are a couple, 71 and 72, who met and married several years ago. Patricia spent years in London as a documentary producer and Paul is a digital publisher, web designer, artist and DIY expert. We fell in love with Corfu and have settled in the village of Prinilas, 35 minutes from beautiful Corfu Town, UNESCO world heritage site. We have 5 children between us who live in the US, Australia and UK. We love organic gardening, house restoration, travel and the wild and tamed cats who live everywhere on Corfu.
