Neighbourhood

The villa is located at the end of a small hamlet, at the top of a valley with sweeping views of the Aupan mountains.  It's 1 hour 15 mins drive from Pisa airport.  10 minutes to the local town with a small supermarket, bakery, fruit shop, gelateria, post office, ATM & pharmacy.   
Walks in every direction from the villa through the national park, to hilltop medieval villages etc.  Within 30 minutes there are numerous hiking trails, waterfalls and wild swimming spots.  Markets in local town squares and in the summer months these villages and towns become alive with fiestas and festivals.  45 minutes drive will take you to the coast - including the beautiful Cinque Terre, Lerici, San Terenzo to name just a few spots.  Explore the grotto caves or zip line through the gorge at Equi Terme. Head to the old town of Sarzanna for evenings wandering the streets full of antique shops and delicious eateries.  Hire electric bikes or take guided tours from Fivizzano. Catch a train to Lucca, Bagni etc.  Wine tasting and cheese making tours, the options are endless!

Getting Around

A car is most definitely needed.  Local supermarket and essential shops are 10 minutes drive away.  Large supermarket to stock up is 30 minutes away.  Pasta and wine shop is 15 minutes away :)

Good to drive to local train station and take train to explore further afield.

We also have an amazing English speaking taxi driver with a 7 seater car to recommend.

Architect & Yogi with mainly grown up kids (1 still at home) living in a 1650 converted barn Oxfordshire with our dog, cat & chickens.  We have a beautiful Tuscan stone villa nestled in the hills of Northern Tuscany which is our holiday home and place we host yoga retreats from time to time.
