General Overview

Tucked away in a peaceful village setting, our 3-bedroom house is surrounded by nature, yet just a short 15-minute cycle from the vibrant city of Bath. We love the fresh air, the beautiful walks along the canal and river, and the tranquil, countryside-retreat feel of the area — all while still having easy access to everything Bath has to offer. The house has a private garden, bikes available for guests to explore the surrounding paths and countryside, and parking right in front of the house. There's also a green space nearby, adding to the relaxed, village atmosphere. Our two cats add warmth and fun to the home and are always happy to keep you company — though they're independent and won't demand much attention. We feel lucky to live in a place that blends nature, relaxation, and easy access to the culture and history of Bath. It's truly a special spot to call home.

The Space

In summer, much of life happens outside — we love eating under the pergola, watching the garden come alive, and playing the occasional family game of badminton on the lawn. The kitchen is the heart of the house, with a big table that's perfect for family meals and gathering together. When the weather's good, hopping on the bikes for a ride along the canal is one of our favourite ways to spend an afternoon.

Guest Access

have access to the front of the house and a gate at the back. It's ideal for taking the bikes out from the back garden, and for bringing shopping in at the front, where you can park your car.

Neighbourhood

We live in a cul-de-sac with four other families, plus a few more houses behind us. We don't tend to socialise much day-to-day, as everyone's at a different stage of life — we have teenagers, some neighbours have young children, and others are retired couples — but it's a quiet, friendly, and respectful place to be.

Nearest airport

Bristol airport is 45 min drive away or 1 hr bus journey.

Getting Around

Bathampton is a lovely village just on the outskirts of Bath, around 2 miles (15 minutes by bike) from the city centre. By car, it's roughly a 10-minute drive. Regular buses run between Bathampton and central Bath, taking around 15–20 minutes. For those who enjoy cycling, the canal towpath offers a flat, scenic route straight into the city — one of the easiest and most pleasant ways to get there. The village itself has a small high street with a post office, a little supermarket, and a dental and doctor's surgery, as well as a lovely playground for kids in a nearby park.

Selma

Hello! We're Selma and family – a lively family of four from the picturesque village of Bathampton, right on the edge of Bath. Our 2 teenagers keep us on our toes, and we love spending time together traveling, playing sports, and meeting new people. Our home is in the perfect spot, nestled between the canal and river, with beautiful walks all around. We're just a 15-minute cycle from the heart of Bath, but it feels like a peaceful countryside escape. We're passionate about exploring new places and cultures, and though we haven’t exchanged homes here before, we're excited to try! We’re open to new experiences and are sure we’ll make great memories. Looking forward to connecting with like-minded families!
