Neighbourhood

Malmesbury is a small town with a long history. The first king of all-England was buried here in the ancient Abbey which features a fantastic 12th Century Norman arch. The abbey was home to the monk Elmer - the first 'aviator' - as his fascination with flight led him to don wings and 'fly' from the abbey roof! The market cross, several hundred years old, is one of the finest in England. The town lies on the edge of the Cotswolds, listed as an area of outstanding natural beauty - with its pretty stone built cottages and traditional market towns - yet it is within easy reach of many of the country's most famous tourist attractions, such as Bath, Stonehenge and Stratford-on-Avon, whilst London is also less than 2 hours away. The town has a leisure center and public pool, whilst nearby are water-parks with boating facilities, riding stables and hiking/walking trails galore.

Getting around

As the house is in the centre of town all necessary shops are nearby. Also close by is a Leisure Centre with gym and swimming pool, cafes and restaurants, a museum and fortnightly cinema. A reciprocal car swap is also a possibility if interested.
