General overview
I live in the Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia, also known as the "Helen of the West" named after the Greek mythological character, Helen of Troy. It was formed by volcanic activity. Its geographic features include a pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast, many rivers and boiling sulphur springs. The coastline is home to volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, luxury resorts and fishing villages. Trails in the interior rainforest lead to waterfalls. These are not my words, but this is how my home makes me feel everytime I enter :
"The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome"
(Sir Derek Walcott-Saint Lucian poet, playwright, writer and visual artist- Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1992):
The space
Located in Cap Estate, an exclusive community in the north of Saint Lucia and home to several high-end developments, private homes, stunning beaches, and two award-winning golf courses (Point Hardy Golf Club / Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club). Both are in walking distance to my home which also has unobstructed views, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
Three-level residential house, spread on 23,558sqft of landscaped gardens. 4-bedroom property - 2 ensuite bathrooms and private balconies with sea views. The other 2 bedrooms are adjoining with a bathroom. 1 guest restroom downstairs. Large kitchen, separate dining area, large patio with ocean views, entertainment room/office, laundry room, outside BBQ area. Water tank room. Two road access front and back of house. Herb garden, mango, coconut, golden apple and plum trees. Parking space for 4 vehicles. UK/USA Voltage. Wi-Fi. Cable TV. Housekeeper and Car available.

Notes
Because Saint Lucia is surrounded by water, we have no (natural) land connections to other countries, however, our closest neighbours are the islands of Martinique, to the north, Saint Vincent, to the south-west and Barbados to the west-northwest.
St Lucia has a dry season from December to May and a wet season from June to November.

Neighbourhood
Drive or Bus.
Gros Islet: 10 Mins Drive. A small town full of historic sights, a thriving marina . In recent decades, it has evolved from a tranquil fishing community into a top sightseeing attraction
Rodney Bay: 10-15 Min Drive from house. It's one of the major tourist hubs. Along with a good choice of hotels along the waterfront, Rodney Bay Village and its surrounds have plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and a vibrant but relaxed atmosphere.
Reduit Beach sits along the waterfront of Rodney Bay Village
Getting to my home
Drive into Cap Estate. We are located in Caribbean Park .
Nearest airport
Flying here are two airports. Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort (IATA: UVF, ICAO: TLPL)) is located on the southern end of the island and serves primarily international flights. George F. L. Charles Airport (IATA: SLU, ICAO: TLPC) is the smaller of the two for regional Island hopping.
Getting around
Drive ideally. Public Bus stops all around from Gros Islet Onwards

I am a single female coming up to retirement age. Born and bred in Nottingham, England. My background is in Hotel, Catering & Institutional Management , Marketing and PR. I worked in tourism and hospitality around the world and became partner in a successful Destination Marketing Representation Company based in Claygate, Surrey-UK, residing in Esher, before relocating to Saint Lucia in 2009 to look after my ailing parents. I formed a Non-Profit charity working in underserved communities and vulnerable youth called Sacred Sports Foundation Inc (Google us), with two of my brothers, one of whom was Keith Alexander the first black football manager in the UK, who sadly passed away in 2010. The Foundation has and continues to grow from strength to strength creating a legacy for Keith.
