Our house has beautiful panoramic sea views , allowing you to take in the scenery from Southend Pier all the way to Hadleigh Castle. We are located a 12 minute walk from the train station, which will take you into central London in 45 minutes. Although London is easily accessible, our local town and area also has lots to offer (see “our neighborhood” for further information).
More photos to follow by end of 2024 as bedrooms are currently under renovation .

Neighbourhood
within a 15 minute walk, you can reach Old Leigh, which offers a variety of pubs and eateries over overlooking the sea, plus a small beach with access to paddle or swim. Leigh-on-Sea also has a bustling high street (The Broadway) which is also a 15 minute walk and boasts lots of independent coffee shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. Further along the coast (10 minutes by car or train or around an hour walking), you will find Southend-On-Sea which is a traditional UK seaside resort, with beaches, a fun fair, sea life center, arcades, amusements, fish and chip, ice creams and candyfloss. Southend also has the Europes longest pier (1.2 miles) which you can walk or catch a train to the end - where you will find a cafe serving food and drinks.
Getting to my home
From all London airports, you can take a train into central London and then the train out of London to my house. Local train station is 12 minutes walk from my house. There is also a taxi rank at the train station.
Southend airport is very close so a taxi or bus is the best option.
Nearest airport
London Southend Airport - 4.7 miles
London Stansted Airport - 35 miles
London Luton Airport - 64 miles
London Gatwick Airport - 77 miles
London Heathrow Airport - 74 miles
Getting around
Shops, restaurants, bars, beach, train station are all walkable from the house (10-15 mins).
Train station will take you into central London in 45 minutes or along the coast to Southend in 10 minutes.
In summer and school holidays, there is an open top bus that runs through the high street and along the coast to Southend (my young daughter loves this)!
You can also walk to Southend along the coast in around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

We are a family of 3 located in the UK. New to home exchanging but have previous experience of hosting holiday rentals via other platforms and I held Super Host status on airbnb for several years.
We love to travel and are open on where we go but are tied to the UK school holidays. While we are a family of 3, we often bring along a set of grandparents so having an extra bedroom available would be a bonus on our trips.
