General overview

Our home is a lovely cosy, bright space located on a hillside overlooking the town of Stornoway and the bay. It is a traditionally styled Hebridean cottage dating back to 1900 and has a very relaxed feel. Its perfectly placed for exploring all the wonderful beaches and historic sites on the island. The things I love most about the cottage are sitting on the decking with a book on a sunny day or having a soak in the roll tap bath and sitting by the fire cosying up on a cold day

Guest access

Ground floor - Kitchen Diner, Living area, Bedroom and Bathroom Upper floor - Two bedrooms The property is unlikely to be suitable for anyone with mobility needs due to bathroom having a roll top bath with shower over

Neighbourhood

The cottage is on the edge of the main town in the Outer Hebrides but retains a rural feel with fields around it. It is quiet and peaceful but just a couple of minutes drive in to town. The island is the largest in the UK outside of the mainland. The wider area has an abundance of beautiful beaches and an abundance of wildlife. There are also numerous historic sites on the island such as the callanish standing stones which date back to around 5000 years ago, making them older than Stonehenge

Getting to my home

As we are on an island you would need to either fly in to Stornoway Airport of get one of the two ferries that serve the island which are Ullapool to Stornoway or Uig, Skye to Tarbert, Harris

Nearest airport

Stornoway Airport is 5 miles away

Janice

Hi Guys, We are a family of four - two adults, 3 year old and 1 year old living in Scotland - although we sometimes travel with extended family so then four adults and two children in total, also occasionally as a couple but closer to home. At the moment, due to age of the children, we would be interested in short stays in the UK, either in Scotland or not far from an airport that we can fly to from Inverness. We would also be interested in longer swaps, i.e. seven days or more, in Europe if flight time is less than four hours from UK. Thanks for reading :) We are offering our traditional cottage in the Outer Hebrides. The cottage sleeps six in three double bedrooms and we also have travel cots
