** the St. Paul Winter Carnival is coming soon. Mark your calendars and consider visiting the oldest winter festival in the USA (since 1886). The festival comes complete with a royal family, a torchlight parade, lots of events but my favorite are the ice sculpture contests! See link for all the details.** https://wintercarnival.com/events/vulcan-snow-park/
Our home is a single story house in a first ring suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. it is in a great location with all the urban amenities and yet has large beautiful parks very close by. We have a large fenced yard perfect for children or pets. In the summer, we love to sit on the back deck and watch all the birds. The house has one master bedroom on the main floor and one basement bedroom with a bathroom on the lower level. It is a modest home with modern amenities and is very comfortable for family living..

Neighbourhood
We live in Richfield, a central location for many activities in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Our home is on a quiet street but near bus stops, shopping and freeways. Richfield has a large Latinx population and you will hear as much Spanish as English in the cities shops and restaurants.
Getting to my home
We are only about 15 minutes from the MSP international airport. A ride share would be the easiest although you could probably take public transportation
Nearest airport
MSP (Mpls)
Getting around
Within biking/walking distance is a Walmart, Walgreens, gas stations, restaurants, bakeries, groceries, an off leash dog park and a playground. Lyft and Uber (ride shares) are readily available as is meal delivery.
Driving is fairly straightforward with numbered streets. It is a five minute walk to a bus stop which can connect you to other bus routes or the light rail.

People Like Us Local Guide
I could meet up for a meal or a drink or get together. I work full time so am only available weekends and some weekday evenings but am happy to be a guide. Also have lived in the area for the last 16 years and grew up in the area. Available for suggestions for activities, etc.

We are a semi retired lesbian couple. Our three children are grown and we are new grandparents. Laura is a partially retired special education teacher and I still work full-time in social services. (Group homes for people with disabilities)
We are hoping to do more traveling (we have a long bucket list) and have had three great experiences with home exchanges when our kids were younger. Now we are empty nesters, it’s time to travel again.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
