General Overview

Our house may not look spectacular from the outside, but it is very comfy and roomy and comes with all necessary equipment. It is located in a quiet part of Uppsala with easy access by bike, car or bus to the city centre in approx. 10 minutes.

The Space

We have five bedrooms, of which one has a double bed, the other are single beds. On the ground floor you find two bedrooms, one spacious bathroom with a bathtub and shower, kitchen, living room and a study/extension of the living room and a room for washing and drying clothes. There is also direct access to the garden from the living room. On the first floor there is a bathroom with a shower, a master bedroom looking out onto the garden and two single bedrooms. The garden is private and has outdoor furniture. We have 6 bikes that you are welcome to borrow. Three adult size bikes and 3 childrens bikes in different sizes.

Guest Access

The house has two floors. The second floor is accessed by stairs. Free parking is available about 100 metres from the house.

Notes

The house comes with cats. They are very friendly and usually mind their own business, but do require to be fed by anyone staying in the house. The are indoor/outdoor cats and come and go as they please. In the summer they spend most of their time outdoors.

Neighbourhood

The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. Just down the road from us (about 100 meters from our front door) is a playground suitable for children from 1 years old and up. Next to the playground is a big park area with soccer goals set up. Within 20 minutes walk or 5 -10 minutes by bike is a viking museum and an viking burial mounds and an old, beautiful church. Just beyond the church is a beach area on the river Fyris that runs through Uppsala. We are north of the city and the water is excellent for a swim! 10 minutes by bus or bike will get you to the city centre where you find other museums, a large cathedral, shops, restaurants and cafés

Getting to my home

If you arrive by plane, Arlanda airport is only a 20 minute trainride from Uppsala city centre.

Getting Around

From the city centre you can reach the house by bus 2 or 3 in approx. 10-15 minutes. You can also take a train to Stockholm very easily. The train runs at least every 30 minutes all day and takes about 40-60 minutes to Stockholm city centre.

We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and three kids aged 17, 15 and 9. We love to travel and experience new countries and meet new people. We have a comfy, newly renovated house in historic Uppsala, Sweden with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We have travelled a fair amount, but are new to house exchange.
