Neighbourhood

Ferrara is a very nice, small and quiet walled town rich of historical heritage from roman age, middle-age and renaissance, declared World Heritage from UNESCO. It has a good university and a rich cultural life (theater, music, museums, etc.). It is famous for good typical food and its people are relaxed and friendly. It is part of the European "Cities for Cyclists" network, so you will enjoy visiting the city and the neighborhood along the Po river cycling routes to the Po delta, the Adriatic Sea, crossing many natural parks that are paradises for birdwatching lovers. From Spring to Autumn there are dozens of food and wine festivals where you can try the tasty food, hear music, meet people. The sea is only 55 Km from Ferrara. The last week of August Ferrara becomes the capital of street music with the Buskers Festival when musicians play day and night all over the city center. Ferrara is also the ideal starting point to visit some of the most beautiful and interesting Italian cities, far from the crowd. Bologna is only 30 minutes away, Padova, Verona, and Venezia about 1-1.30 hours, Firenze 1.30 hours and Rome 2 hours. It is well connected both by train and by car. Abano Terme and its famous thermal SPA is only 40 minutes away. For more information in many languages see http://www.ferraraterraeacqua.it

Stella

We are searching for guests who like to enjoy our house and the city while we are away. The house is available from 1 to 31 August 2024! Stella 54 web designer, Francesco 60 web designer (www.head-hands.com). I'm also a fiber artist and Francesco is also a violin maker (www.gugsviolin.it/) and a guitar maker. Guglielmo 23, plays violin and bagpipe and swims. We have two medium-sized dogs, Rose, and Uma who are full-time family members and will travel with us, they are well-behaved female hounds almost 10 and 9 years old, your pets are welcome in our house as well. We don't smoke and prefer if you don't smoke or smoke outside. We love our house, cooking and eating (so you'll find a ton of cooking books and a lot of stuff to cook whatever you want), music, and reading. We have been home exchangers since 2006 and never miss a beat! We prefer the old-style reciprocal exchange but we are also open to non-reciprocal and non-simultaneous and why not house sitters! We love the slow travel, at least two weeks to have the time to enjoy the people and the place and not just run across things :-)
