Neighbourhood
The very quiet neighborhood is one of the highest in Magog, which allows you to admire a superb view of the city and of Mounts Orford and Bolton while walking through the surrounding streets.
A 30-second walk from the house is a large family park (Parc des Hautes-Sources) where there is: a loop cycle path (400m), play modules and swings, water games, a playground asphalt with basketball hoops, soccer goals on grass, a pétanque area, picnic tables, and of course lots of greenery!
In winter, this same park offers just as much leisure: 1 large ice rink for playing hockey, a small ice rink for free skating (see photos), several hills for sliding with sleds, sleds, tri-skis, etc., and much more. Of course, swings and play structures remain accessible.
Nearest airport
Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Airport in Montreal (YUL) is approximately an hour's drive away.
Getting around
All services (grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, general stores, etc.) are located 5 to 10 minutes away by car.
To get to the beaches of majestic Lake Memphremagog and the charming city center with all its shops and historic buildings on the main street, it takes no more than 5 minutes by car. You will be delighted by the multitude of water activities offered at MacPherson wharf or at Cantons beach.
Nearby places to absolutely visit: "Pointe Merry", a large family-friendly public square on the banks of the lake (with pedestrian and cycle paths), and the Rivière-aux-cerises marsh, which offers a magnificent nature walk on a fence of wood, so easy access for strollers!
Bike enthusiasts: all these places can be reached by the “la Montagnarde” cycle path which can be reached in just 3 minutes from the house!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Pascal & Sophie's spacious home and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The location is ideal for families with young children, as there are plenty of nearby activities to keep them entertained. The house is conveniently located just 15 minutes away from Mont Orford, where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, and only 25 minutes away from Sherbrooke. Additionally, the house is just a short 15-minute drive from the US border, making it a great option for anyone who wants to explore both Canada and the United States.
During our stay at Pascal & Sophie's house, our family had a fantastic time. Our kids, who are 5 and 2 years old, absolutely loved playing with all the toys available in the house. They were entertained for hours on end, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Additionally, the large playground located next door was a great bonus. One of the highlights of our stay was snow sliding in the nearby park. We had so much fun as a family. Our daughter even learnt how to ice skate in the park, which was a memorable experience for all of us.
Meeting Pascal & Sophie in person was a pleasure, and we were grateful for their warm welcome and hospitality. Our kids became good friends, which was an added bonus. They made us feel at home and ensured that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Pascal & Sophie's house, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious and family-friendly vacation home in a beautiful location.
Pascal and Sophie were fabulous exchange partners. They were very respectful of my home. They took great care of my cats, too. They communicated well and were lovely people. Thanks for coming to Salem! We’re looking forward to coming north this spring.

We spent a 4 days weekend at Sarah's house with my cousin, his wife and there children. Everything was perfect. Sarah's house is located a 10 minutes walk from downtown Salem, which allowed us to take full advantage of all the activities that were present during the October weekends. What a great experience!
This city is full of history about their ancestors and witches. Walking the streets of Salem was a very enjoyable time.
All our communications with Sarah were simple and efficient. She did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you Sarah!
We highly recommend a stay in Salem at Sarah's house.
It was very pleasant to do this exchange with Agnès and Enric. We swapped our homes for 3 months, which allowed us to integrate really well into the wonderful New Zealand culture.
Their house is located in the charming town of Papamoa Beach: ideal for families, near the beach and shops. We appreciated the proximity to services and leisure, such as the supermarket 10 minutes walk away and the beach 15 minutes away. Our best memories are our many walks in the wonderful reserves around their neighborhood and in the Papamoa Hills.
Their house was big enough and really comfortable for our family (3 children), settled for a few months. It was ideal for starting our trip to New Zealand and discovering the Bay of Plenty region.

From the start, communication was easy. We were available to welcome them for 5 days with us before leaving for their home in NZ. We shared good times around family meals. They were able to answer our questions before we left for NZ. They left the house clean and in good condition. They are a kind, trustworthy family.
