Neighbourhood
The house is located in the old town, centrally, where the old part of the town begins as it is divided into a new and an old part, each with its church, its main square and its town hall. The old part was abandoned and has been rehabilitated over time.
It is a very quiet area, we woke up to the birds singing.
Nearest airport
Castelló airport is the closest, 30 minutes away, and Valencia airport is 2 hours away by car.
Getting around
It is a very quiet town, in the Baix Maestrat region. Close to larger and better-known towns, ideal for visiting, such as Sant Mateu, where there is a tourist office and several good restaurants to eat.

One of the towns is Canet (where the movie The Olive Tree was filmed) and you can take hiking routes to visit ancient olive trees.
Another Catí, a picturesque town where there is a cheese factory with its own store to purchase them. There is also a spa a few km from the town called l'Avella, with a restaurant and hermitage. https://casadebanyslavella.com/
Morella is the most beautiful town in the area, very famous (chosen as the most beautiful town in Spain) with a very well preserved old town, castle and walls.
The town of Vinaroz, capital of the Bajo Maestrazgo region, where you can go to the beach, eat fish, rice or fideuá, and Peñíscola, another charming town that is a little further away, but worth visiting. The Ebro River Delta is not far away in Catalonia, and you can visit Tortosa or Amposta.
It is an ideal area for hiking and rural tourism, the route of the ancient olive trees is ideal for getting to know the area. You can also enjoy the magnificent beaches of Vinaroz, Benicarló or Peñíscola, a very touristy town known for having filmed several movies and having a very beautiful castle since it was the papal headquarters in the 15th century.
A car is necessary to move easily around the region.
In the town of Cert, there is an oil mill where they take guided tours explaining the production of oil and the cultivation of ancient olive trees, and you can buy the organic oil from their production.

I can be a friend for ideas about the area, explain any questions... Having a coffee would be possible depending on the time of year since I work. It is a second residence and we are not always there or we can go up.😉
