General Overview
We live in a pretty village on the coast of the Netherlands and close to Rotterdam, and Delft, with the largest port of Europe. We live in a detached house with a large garden for Dutch standards (1300 m2). Our home is situated at a former dike and our house and garden are therefore sheltered. At the first rays of sun it’s already warm in a large part of our garden. In summer you can enjoy our summerhouse or relax on our outdoor furniture (including a double outdoor bed) and in our indoor pool. Or maybe you want to BBQ or go to the beaches? In winter you can sledge off the dike when snow has fallen. Even for us adults that’s a blast! Or sit in front off the fireplace with hot chocolate and a nice book or perhaps relax in the sauna.
The Space
Our house has a living room, a dining room, a conservatory, kitchen, garage, 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a sauna and a large garden with a garden house.
Guest Access
Our masterbedroom and bathroom are downstairs. The other bedrooms are upstairs, just as the second toilet.

Neighbourhood
Our home is located in a very attractive part of the Netherlands. Close to the sea and many day-trip destinations on our doorstep. The village we live in is part of the island Voorne of the province South Holland. This region encompasses three islands (Islands of South Holland), each with an own character and each offering a wealth of possibilities.
Oostvoorne is a small and green village on the coast. It offers a splendid variety of nature and scenery, peace and quietness. The region houses one of the largest areas of nature in western Europe (beaches, dunes and woods). Oostvoorne has a lovely beach, often used for (kite)surfing, horseriding, kiting of just for a walk. The woods and dunes in our village are also attractive for recreation. The beach of our neighbouring village Rockanje is awarded with the Blue Flag and with an European award for green coastal municipalities. The dunes of Voorne extend as far as the eye can see and offer a large variety of flora and fauna. There all lots of sportive activities to do: hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, cycling, surfing or kite surfing and diving.

We had a fantastic time staying at Miriam and Rob’s home in Oostvoorne. They have a very cosy home in a beautiful location. Their home is only a short bike ride or walk to the village where you will find multiple restaurants, grocery stores and great bakeries. Our morning coffee time was spent in their sunroom watching the horses in their pasture. Miriam and Rob left us their bikes to use during our stay and we used them daily to explore the Island. We’d like to thank Miriam and Rob for being a part of the PLU family and opening their home to us.; we would never have known to visit Oostvoorne otherwise.
Miriam and Rob's home is in a lovely neighborhood near a windmill, vegetable market and several horse farms. Beaches and shopping are accessible within minutes. The bus is a 5 minute walk.
The home is very well equipped including a sauna and a beautiful sunroom facing a horse pasture.
We stayed for 1 month and had everything we needed, and more!
We really enjoyed our time with Miriam and Rob. They are so kind and thoughtful. They even surprised our kids with gifts and a chocolate treat and wine from their home town in the Netherlands for my husband and I! They were the best houseguests with great communication and left the space clean. I’m so sad we didn’t catch a picture together, but I hope we can make it happen in our future travels. This was my first exchange and honestly their company has made this experience better than I imagine.
We did a one month simultaneous exchange with Mirium and Rob. They were awesome hosts and guests. They made us comfortable from the onset. Not only were they gracious, helpful and attentive, they were a lot of fun!
Mirium and Rob took great care of our home, plants, mail, etc. I think better than we do!
We highly recommend exchanging with Mirium and Rob, they are truly wonder people!

Dawn and Brian are very friendly, hospitable and attentive. They did their utmost to make our stay memorable and succeeded 100% in that.
We had a wonderful time in their beautiful home. Their home is fully equipped and super clean. You won’t be missing a thing. Vancouver Island is beautiful and there are plenty of fun things to do. We absolutely recommend an exchange with Dawn and Brian. Thank you for everything!

We had the pleasure of staying with Bailey, Travis and the children in the RV. What an incredibly hospitable, beautiful and friendly family this is! Bailey made sure we didn’t miss anything. In fact, she did her utmost best to make us feel as welcome as possible. And she succeeded more then 100%. So involved, welcoming and generous.
The surroundings are stunning and there is a lot to do and discover. Alaska is really a beautiful state with friendly people, who proudly tell you about their surroundings. It sure hurt a bit to leave, but the beautiful memories remain. And Bailey and her family will definitely take their place in them.
We hope to meet them again. And we definitely recommend an exchange with them. Thank you so much, dear Bailey and family!
Feedback for Marie and Paul·Simultaneous exchange·31 nights
We stayed a month in the spacious house of Paul and Marie and we had a great time. Paul and Marie live in a nice, quiet neighborhood with everything you need nearby and easily accessible. The Twin Cities are also close by and so you are in the city in no time, if you want to.
The house has a lot of sports and relaxation facilities, such as a gym, table tennis table, a billiards, bicycles and other outdoor sports supplies. In addition, it was clean, the beds were lovely and there was a beautiful garden and a spacious veranda. In terms of house contents, everything was absolutely fine too. Really a nice house to stay in!
Feedback for Marie and Paul·Simultaneous exchange·31 nights
We have been doing house exchange since 2013. And we have actually always had good experiences. Yet we rarely met such friendly, warm and attentive exchange partners as Paul and Marie. Because they were already in the Netherlands before we exchanged houses, we met them in advance. That was a fun afternoon with lots of laughter and good conversations. It felt “good” instantly.
Paul and Marie took great care of our home and our garden during their stay. We came home in a shiny house, the lawn was mowed and the plants, inside and outside, were clearly well cared for (and grown!). During our exchange we had regular whatsapp contact and that always went smoothly and nicely. Nothing was too much for them. We are grateful to Paul and Marie for everything they have done for us and we highly recommend an exchange with them! (So, do yourself a huge favor and swap with them!) Thank you so much, Paul and Marie!

Miriam and Rob
My husband Rob (69) and I (Miriam: 58) love to explore other countries. Rob is a retired finance director and I have my own business. We share a few passions together, like exploring the world and learning about new countries and cultures, but we also have some hobbies for ourselves. Rob, for instance, is a huge music fan and has a collection of over 3500 cd's. I love snorkeling, discover the reefs and looking for shells.
We respect people and their property, so be sure we'll treat your home as it was our own.
If you are interested to swap homes with us, please feel welcome to e-mail us to find out if there are possibilities. We are looking forward to (virtually) meeting you.
We had 35 wonderful exchanges so far and we're really enthusiastic about swapping homes.
