General overview

We love the historical aspect of our Regency townhouse with high ceilings and original features. It is over 5,000sq ft with partial sea views. We are less than 200 metres from the sea. The house overlooks a public garden with a series of Elizabeth Frink sculptures called the Desert Quartet. It has been lovingly restored and furnished by us over the last year. We are close to cosmopolitan Brighton with all its culture and entertainment. We have the sea immediately to our south and the South Downs National Park a few miles to the north. There is easy access to Brighton and London by train, Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

The space

On the ground floor there is a substantial kitchen and linked dining room with high ornate ceilings. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, a Lacanche range cooker and a Quooker boiling water tap. There is also a cloakroom to the rear. There is a Sonos sound system on the ground and first floor and a CD player on the ground floor. On the half landing there is a utility room with washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board etc and the GCH boilers. There is a plentiful supply of sheets towels etc here as well On the first floor is the principal reception room with a marble fireplace, ornate ceiling and triple French doors opening out onto the balcony. Adjoining is a further reception room with a Samsung digital TV with netflix. There is a further WC on the next half landing. On the second floor is the master bedroom suite with a super kingsize bed and a separate bathroom and shower room. The bedroom also has a Samsung digital TV On the third floor there is a further large bedroom with a super king size bed and the third bedroom with a double sleigh bed. These two bedrooms share a shower room. There is a basement and mews to the rear which have not yet been modernised so are not used as part of the living accommodation although there is a table tennis table set up for use in the basement. There is a small inner courtyard which can be accessed through the ground floor at the rear Everything you would expect will be in our home from towels to bedding and consumables for all appliances etc

Guest access

The house has direct access from the pavement with two single steps up and there is metered on street parking. The house is on four floors with high ceilings. so lots of stairs.

Notes

We have a 12 year old fit and healthy cat, Lola, who is very independent. We would like anyone who stays to look after her, feed her and change her litter tray as she is mostly an indoor cat, although may go out if she wishes We have two bicycles that may be used. Plus there are bikes available to hire along the sea front as well.

Paul and Fiona

Hi we are a retired lawyer/property developer and interior designer with 6 adult children, all of whom have left home, and 8 grandchildren. We love to travel, explore old places, spend time in the sun, play tennis and renovate old properties. We have a healthy 12 year old cat that we would like to leave at home and be looked after when we travel. We also have two sons living in California so always interested in exchanges to the USA
