Laundry is behind the bathroom door, tucked away. To the right of this hall is the bathroom. These stairs lead up to the main floor where we live (locked door). Enjoy full privacy in the backyard, with firepit. Access to the apartment Peggy's Cove which is about 50 mins from our house. Village of Peggy's Cove Burntcoat Head...where you can walk on the ocean floor at low tide...pretty cool! Just over an hour ... Just one of MANY beautiful beaches that dot our coastline. Benjamin Bridge winery is just one of many wonderful wineries that are within an hours drive of our ... We also have some amazing trail systems within minutes of the house. Halls Harbor near Burntcoat Head Provincial Park.

General Overview

Welcome to our warm and welcoming Cape Cod style home which sits on a beautiful, private and tree filled yard. What I'm offering is a fully equipped, sunny, walk-out basement unit (not wheelchair accessible), with a separate entrance for added privacy (we live on the upper level). Enjoy the outdoor fire pit with your favorite beverage, have a chat with the birds or the occasional deer. We are only 25 minutes from Halifax city center but with all the trees that surround the property, it feels like you're in the country.

The Space

Kick back and relax in this cozy, curated 1000 s/f of living space. It offers two guest bedrooms (both have Q/S comfy beds), 3-PC bath, apartment size kitchen (but fully equipped) and a large living room with wood burning stove which opens onto a large ground level deck where you can sit and enjoy the privacy of the trees that surround you and spot the many species of birds.

This apartment is one level without stairs, however is not wheelchair accessible.

Notes

From the deck you walk into the main living, dining and kitchen space which is one big room. We provide coffee (Keurig), various teas, sugar, oil and vinegar, salt, pepper and other spices. Right next to the kitchen and the first door (barn door) to the right is your first bedroom space. It has a queen size bed with four pillows, fitted/flat sheet, light blanket and feather duvet. This room has the most light as it is facing onto the deck space (but has window blinds and curtains for full privacy). It also has a chair and a dresser to store your items. Past the main living room and on the right hand side you will find out three piece bath (if you need a basin to wash your infant please give me enough notice to prepare before your arrival). You will have six towels, four hand towels and four facecloths. Shampoo/conditioner and bar soap is provided. You will also find a few extras for your convenience in the wood bins under the sink, such as a hairdryer, disposable razors, band aids, cotton pads, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, stain remover and a few other incidentals and cotton pads/quetips in the glass jars on the shelf above the toilet. Past the bathroom you will be in the hall, you will find some books, puzzles and games for use. The stairway leads upstairs to where we live, it is locked for your privacy and ours. There will be two doors in the hall area that will also be locked, a utility and storage room. Past the hall you will find the second bedroom, it also has a queen bed a with four pillows, fitted/flat sheet, light blanket and feather duvet, a full length mirror and closet with hangers to store your items. This is a slightly darker room...or I would prefer to say cool and cozy!

Neighbourhood

We are close to all main highways, 25 minutes to downtown Halifax, less than 15 minutes from the Halifax International Airport and about 30 minute from Lawrencetown Beach Provincial Park. (known for it's surfing). So many beautiful lakes in the area, great golf courses and several wonderful walking trails very close by...and of course never that far from some great ocean beaches and all those quaint small towns that dot our coastline...all close enough to do some great day trips! We also also have many wonderful vineyards that are all within an hour of us. Surrounded by nature but yet close and convenient to everything. The best of both worlds!

Getting to my home

We are not far from anything but a car is needed, as we are tucked away in an older development that does not have a bus stop. Also happy to pick you up at the airport if we are home.

Young at heart couple looking to experience as much of the world as possible...and always in search of the next great meal while doing it! Most of the time it would just be the two of us travelling but on occasion we travel with 2-4 other family members or friends (adults). We are quite flexible with timing and destination. Favorites include but certainly not limited to Asia (Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam), just about anywhere in Europe (love Italy and would love to explore more) but would also love to visit Greece, Portugal, France, Spain, Prague, Croatia to name a few...but really open. Hawaii anytime (but definitely open to other states such as California, South Carolina, Oregon to name a few). Would also be open to anywhere warm during our Winter months. We LOOOVE food, fashion, animals (if you have a cat(s) that's a bonus for us), interior design & architecture, music and golf. We love small, quaint old towns but also big cities. We also wouldn't turn down a quick beach getaway during our Winter months. Our travel style is somewhat last minute as I work for an airline. We never overly plan, meaning, a few weeks to 2-3 months out works for us. But open to just about anywhere! We are non-smokers and have been very responsible home owners for over 25 years.
