General overview
This is my cute house. It is in a big serene garden in a lakeside village just outside Taupo. So relaxing to hang out in the hammock under the trees or play pétanque on the pétanque court on the lawn. Turn left at the gate to stroll to beautiful lake Taupo, and turn right to walk for a few minutes to the famous Waitahanui fishing rivers. Close to Mt Ruapehu if you’re into skiing :)
The space
Quaint recently renovated house with two bedrooms with french doors to the front veranda. Both bedrooms are spacious and one has couches and pink flamingo wallpaper! - the other is framed with wisteria. Both bedrooms have double beds and there’s daybed in the living room that turns into a double bed .
For the kids or the more adventurous there’s also a mattress in the turret up a ladder that could sleep two (snugly!) and a cute tiny cottage in the garden with a double bed that zips out into two singles. So it could sleep up to 10 but it would be snug indoors! There’s a second serviceable but not pretty toilet in the laundry shed.
Cosy fireplace for the winter, and bbq and outdoor furniture outside. I’m super proud of it and it gives me a buzz when other people enjoy it.
I also have a spare room in my Wellington apartment in picturesque Oriental Bay that you could potentially use as a base for a trip from Taupo to Wellington :)
Guest access
House is single story apart from the turret so easy access. Off st parking.

Neighbourhood
Waitahanui is a sleepy village next to the lake and river - 10 minutes drive to the Taupo township, or about an hour by bike on a beautiful track by the lake. The beautiful huge lake - the size of Singapore! - is the Taupo jewel and mecca
Getting to my home
You can fly to Auckland and then either fly, drive or bus to Taupo.
Nearest airport
10 minutes drive
Getting around
You can walk to the local shop for basic provisions - otherwise there’s a bus to Taupo. There’s one bike at this stage but i’m planning to get one more more and a gorgeous track around the lake to the township. Actually if we are doing a simultaneous swap you could use my electric BMW

Hey! I'm a Kiwi human rights lawyer/investigator. I'm from a 'boutique' wee family of me and my delightful grown up son Sam, but I also have two fabulous nieces I have a cute holiday house 100 metres from Lake Taupo and the famous Waitahanui trout fishing river. I live in Wellington but have been coming to Taupo since I was a kid and its under my skin. Looking forward to sharing my place, its so serene and healing to be in and I'm super proud of it!!
