Neighbourhood

There is so much to do here, The Tongariro Crossing or exploring any of the walks or hikes in the world heritage National Park. The area is very popular for mountain biking with the Old Coach Road, Bridge to Nowhere and the new mountain bike track. Skiing between July and October with August and September the most reliable months. There are cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The Junction area (10 mins walk) area where the Powderhorn Chateau, Powderkeg, Pizzeria and other food places are. Opus Fresh at the train station also does great coffee and has beautiful locally made NZ wool and accessories.

You can walk to the shops (20 mins) in the main town or 10 minutes to The Junction eateries are.
