Neighbourhood

You can see a park from our front window that's a great place to play and meet the neighbors. A short 7-10 minute walk takes you to a local coffee shop with delicious sweet and savory items. You can walk to bus stops that are 5m away to take a bus to downtown Ann Arbor or the University of Michigan. Once downtown, you can catch a $6 bus to downtown Detroit very easily if you're looking for an outing to the big city.

Nearest airport

Detroit Metro Airport is 30 minutes away. If you're coming internationally, you may find good deals out of Toronto or Chicago, both 4 hours away.

Getting Around

We have 3 adult bikes at the house, and a bike trailer for kids. There are buses 5 minutes away. If you're interested in a car, we can discuss that option as well :)

Mike

Hi! We're a family of four (2 young kids) that loves to travel. We love Ann Arbor for the parks, river access, and downtown full of restaurants and festivals. We bike, walk, and take short drives for hikes around the region. Around Michigan, we frequent the lakes and forests for camping with tents and a trailer. Locally, we frequent Detroit for music, food, and museums. In the region, we'll head to Chicago or Toronto (by rail or car) for bigger city weekends. Our favorite spots in Michigan are 2-3 hours west or 3-4 hours northwest for time at Lake Michigan's beautiful beaches. We've done homestays in a few countries and are interested in exchanges or just being house guests for a week or two in spring/summer 2025. Between us we speak intermediate French and Spanish :)
