Located in the Catskills of New York our home is a two-hour drive from NYC (100 miles). This area is beautiful and spacious. Located on five acres and across a rural street from a large pond
The space
The house is situated on a hill overlooking a gorgeous pond. An extensive renovation was done in 2023 where all new luxury appliances and finishes were installed.
On the upper level there is a primary suite with a king bed and a spa-like bathroom, a secondary bedroom with queen bed and unattached bathroom, a tv alcove, living room with double-sided fireplace and a huge kitchen with island and dining area with huge windows overlooking the front yard and pond.
On the lower level is the entry foyer, a bedroom with a king bed and ensuite bathroom, a kids playroom with a queen sofa bed, a large den with a queen sofa bed and the laundry room.
We have two decks off the front of the house that face the pond where the sun rises. Sunset is equally beautiful. We have a firepit. In the backyard there is a paved area with a basketball hoop and another gazebo for hanging outside.
Our house is on a fairly steep hill which provides plenty of sledding opportunities in the winter.
Guest access
Our home is split level with stairs. Our yard is also on a hill.

Neighbourhood
We are a quarter mile from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts which is located on the site of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival (the famous pictures of festival goers skinny dipping took place in the pond in front of our house). There is a Woodstock museum that is open year round. They also host a number of special events throughout the year. Their summer outdoor concert series attracts acts such as Willy Nelson, Hootie & the Blowfish, Chris Stapleton, Alanis Morisette, Phish, James Taylor and so much more. In the fall there is a wonderful Harvest Festival, a jack-o-lantern show and a drive through holiday lights show.
There are a number of charming small towns all within 20-30 minutes of our home. There are plenty of lakes even closer (5-10 min drive) for swimming, fishing and boating in the summer. Holiday Mountain and Villa Roma are both about a 20 minute drive for skiing in the winter. The foliage in autumn is spectacular.
Getting to my home
The closest international airport is EWR in Newark, New Jersey. It is a two/two and a half hour drive to our house depending on traffic. You will need a car once you are at our house as the area is quite rural. You can rent a car at EWR or we may be able to include our car in the exchange.
Nearest airport
EWR Newark International Airport is 110 miles away
Getting around
A car will unfortunately be necessary. We can discuss use of our car. Otherwise a rental car will be required.
