General overview

Our home is comfortable, relaxing and light and open with the beautiful sun pouring through it. We have 2 male rag-doll young cats called Vinni and Olli who will stay if guests would like to look after them. The house is made for family gatherings and entertaining. We live close to everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer plus amenities, a walk around the lake, a bike ride to the nearest beach and a drive to rainforests and mountains. There is everything a family needs for a holiday on our doorstep.

The space

Our home is light, bright and a 5 bed home on one level. We live in a cul-de-sac suburban area with walking paths and bike tracks to lakes, rivers and beaches. We are in the middle of a renovation so unable to post all parts of our home but will be updated and ready for Christmas guests. The living area is comfortable and open plan to include a kitchen and dining area. The home has an outside/in type of feel as the doors open wide to the view of the courtyard, pool and garden. Living area includes large sofa TV and coffee table, dining area has a table for 4 people and the kitchen is fully equipped with large double oven, grill, hotplates, coffee machine, food processor, pressure cooker, rice maker, air fryer etc and a breakfast bar for 2 people. The kitchen window opens out to the courtyard with serving outlet to the courtyard. Bi-fold doors open to an undercover courtyard area with outside kitchen, bbq, sink, equipped kitchen, multiple seating and eating area. Pool and outside shower with spa/jacuzzi newly renovated is a tranquil oasis surrounded by green tropical plants. Bedroom 2 is open plan with queen bed, 2 showers, toilet, open wardrobes and plenty of room with bi-fold doors opening to the undercover courtyard. Bedroom 3 is a double bed and access to the family bathroom. Bedroom 4 is currently being used a music/gaming room and contains a sofa bed which can be used, PlayStation, keyboard, electric drum kit, guitars, steel drum and board games. Neighbourhood

We are one street back from the Mooloolaba river. You will find within 2 minutes walk a play ground for toddlers and grassed area which is access to the river. On the other side of our home is a lake which can be accessed within a 5 minute walk for fishing and exercise. As you continue the lake walk you will find numerous outdoor gym equipment, playgrounds, a basketball court, bridges and beautiful views. The walk is a circuit of approximately an hour and takes you to the local Brightwater Hotel Bar & Restaurant for food, drinks and socialising. Next to it is another well equipped playground and across the road you will find supermarkets, cafe, bakery, bottle shop (alcohol) fish & chips (English style chips is a winner for us!) and a beautiful Thai Restaurant which we recommend! To get to the nearest beach which is Mooloolaba beach you can walk but this would be good exercise maybe takes an hour or less. To bike which is our preferred method of travel to the Mooloolaba beach it takes 15 minutes leisurely along the bike tracks. Car will take you 11 minutes. Mooloolaba is a busy holiday destination with boat trips, diving expeditions a sea world water sports restaurants cafes and a harbour. Next to Mooloolaba beach take a walk along the board walk to Alexander Headlands which is a stunning coastal walk just 10-20 minutes away passing restaurants cafes shops and yes playgrounds, bbq areas everything you need! We are surrounded by rivers and lots of beaches some quiet some busier. All family friendly, safe and well equipped with amenities and of course life guards. Hiring a car is a good idea if you want to venture further and visit other must do places such as; The Glass House Mountains Australia Zoo Kondallila National Park The Ginger Factory Eumundi Markets Vineyards and Breweries Montville and Maleny in the hinterland offer amazing views Local dairies and experiences such as hot air ballooning etc…. Foodies will enjoy the local Mooloolaba prawns, spanner crabs and Moreton Bay bugs. If seafood isn’t your thing there’s plenty of other choices of good restaurants which cater for all tastes including vegan. We can recommend many!

Getting to my home

If you are travelling internationally you will land at Brisbane (BNE) and will require transport by an airport shuttle which we can help you arrange as it is an hour plus travel time. If you are arriving domestically you could fly into the Sunshine Coast airport (MCY) and you’ll need a taxi as it is 20 minutes drive.

Nearest airport

Sunshine Coast (MCY) 20 minutes away. Brisbane (BNE) just over an hour away depending on the time day it may be 1.5 hours.

Getting around

Shops are walking distance but we would recommend a car for most guests especially when the days are hot! Public transport is buses which can be accessed at the top of the street which is 8 minutes walk. Trains can be used for longer distances but the nearest station is 20 minutes drive away.
