General overview

This is a detached guesthouse on our family's 2.6 acres. Our family home is about 200' away. This space was fully renovated in 2018, with eco-friendly design in mind. It's a former artist studio, with paint drops still artfully on the concrete floor to testify to its former life. We are 10 minutes from central Redding. One hour from Mt Shasta.

The space

The living room is very spacious, vaulted ceilings, custom artwork, and modern details. All organic, fair trade linens. Non-toxic soaps, cleaners, etc. The building has its own wifi, which is typically great, but can occasionally be slower (usually due to weather). The bedroom is beautiful and tranquil, an idyllic spot to rest and re-dream. There are often deer or wild turkeys passing through our land; and it’s positively dreamy. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on the front porch, have your lunch on the picnic table outside, and savor the quiet. Be rejuvenated. Be inspired. Be at peace. This is so much of what we love about our space.

Guest access

All ground floor. The only step up is the low front porch.

Notes

The second bedroom can have a full mattress and twin regular mattress added if desired. There is mild water damage on the living room wall/ceiling from a storm. There is a large picnic table and a hammock outside exclusively for guest use.

It feels like the countryside. Homes are not right next to each other. It is quiet and wide open.

Getting to my home

By car we are a mere 10 minutes off of Interstate 5, with a few simple turns.

Nearest airport

Fly in to RDD and we are less than 20 minutes away by car. Fly into SMF and we are 2.5 hours away by car.

Getting around

Public transport is nearly non-existent in Redding. There is uber, but there is often a wait involved if not booked in advance.
