General overview
Our house is the perfect place to be close to the city, while enjoying the countryside and quiet. For the moment we are in the process of refurbishing our house, photos are coming soon.
The space
Our house is turned towards the forest. She is therefore extremely calm. But life is very close, we are not isolated.
Our house is semi-detached, but not overlooked, since we are at the very end.
We have wonderful neighbours.
The bus stop is a 3-4 minute walk to leave. For the return, it is barely 1 minute away.
Parking for the car is in front of the door.
Guest access
Ground floor:
1 small starter
1 living room with fireplace (insert)
1 dining room
1 kitchen
1 terrace open to the garden, the forest in front
(In winter we close part of the terrace to keep the fragile plants sheltered).
Upstairs:
1 bedroom with bed 180 x 200, with bathroom and toilet
1 bedroom with 140x200 bed, with shower and separate toilet
There is a 3rd bedroom, which we use as storage, and which we will not make available.
Notes
The fireplace with insert serves as heating for the whole house, the wood fire heat when it's cold outside is just wonderful.
You have to be a bit used to making a fire every day. The dry wood is in front of the door.
We have electric heaters too.

Neighbourhood
Very close to the countryside, it is very easy to hike from our house. The town centre of Epalinges is a 10-minute walk away for a short walk. You can find everything there.
10 minutes walk (2 minutes by car):
Supermarket, bakery, butcher, post office, pharmacy, hairdresser, barber, chocolate shop, restaurants.
Getting to my home
If you're like us, you want to use public transport: the train and the (mythical) PostBus in Switzerland go EVERYWHERE! I will give you all the details because the rates are expensive if you don't know how to do it well. But there are a lot of tricks to know, if you plan a little in advance.
The bus station that takes you to the city centre of Lausanne is a 3-4 minute walk away. For the return, the bus arrives 1 minute from us.
The bus drops you off at the CROISETTES metro station (about 5 minutes by bus).
The metro takes you to Lausanne train station in 15 minutes, and to the lake in 20 minutes.
If you come by car, you can park in front of the house.
Nearest airport
Geneva Airport is 68 km away. Accessible by motorway in 50 minutes by car (count more during rush hour).
