We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying on the houseboat and loved it from the moment we arrived. It was such a special place to stay, and we felt completely at home. Communication with Eva throughout was warm, friendly and very responsive, which made everything easy. The location was also fantastic, with great public transport connections and everything we needed close by, while still being an easy trip from our home in Haarlem. We especially loved looking after Loekie, their cat, and I even tried stand-up paddleboarding for the first time, which was great fun! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We enjoyed the whole experience so much that we may just have added living on a houseboat to our retirement plans! We would be very happy to exchange again.

We really enjoyed our stay on Eva and her family’s canal boat in Utrecht! It was such a fun and memorable experience, and we were especially grateful that Eva generously opened up the exchange to include Jeff’s sister and her family after we had already arranged the exchange. Having six of us stay together worked out wonderfully, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The location was excellent. We could easily walk to two different train stations, and there were also public buses nearby, although we never actually needed to use them. Having access to the bikes was a huge bonus. We absolutely loved Eva’s garden! We were lucky enough to enjoy fresh plums, raspberries, and strawberries right from the garden, as well as a wonderful variety of herbs. The apples, figs, and pears weren’t quite ripe yet during our visit, but it was still such a treat to have all that fresh produce growing right outside. We also have to mention the wonderful coffee shop directly across the canal — we loved it! The boat is in a relatively quiet neighborhood, with mostly just the normal sounds of life along the canal. There were a few more lively weekend nights with some partiers, but nothing that really bothered us. And one thing that surprised us was how incredibly stable the boat was — it didn’t rock or move at all! The boat is clearly a well-loved, lived-in family home rather than a pristine, hotel-like accommodation, but we found that part of its charm. We were very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Sadly, Eva and her family left the very day we arrived, so we didn’t get the chance to see them again in person. We would have loved to spend some time together, especially since they had stayed at our bungalows the previous summer. It would have been wonderful to reconnect! Hopefully our travels will bring us together again someday. We would happily exchange with Eva and her family again. ❤️

It was so lovely to stay at Eva's home! The communication prior to the exchange was very clear and we felt home from the first minute we set a foot on the houseboat. The house was great, we loved the cat and we were able to do a lot of things in and around Utrecht, very easily. Staying at Eva’s stylish and comfortable house on water was a unique experience that I highly recommend. It was so relaxing to slide open the walls (giant windows) and sit by the canal and watch boats go by. The boat is full of light and houseplants, modern and new, and has every convenience, including a fantastic kitchen (and coffee machine)!) it’s 5-10 minute bike ride to the center and Utecht is very bikeable (try it - it looks daunting but you may be surprised). Communication was excellent (even though Eva herself was on an exchange in Mexico) I highly recommend this swap!

Définitivement un de nos meilleurs échanges. Nous nous sommes sentis comme á la maison, celle-ci est incroyable , magnifique avec une superbe vue sur le canal . Nous avions les vélos á disposition pour pouvoir découvrir la magnifique ville d'Utrecht. Les petits cadeaux laissé par Eva étaient trés appréciables . Thankful that Eva & her family are part of this amazing community. Although the weather was grey & damp, we enjoyed our time on the House boat, watching the world go by on the canal. We really appreciated the well stocked Kitchen, with everything that we could possibly want. The location is really good for exploring the City on their Bikes, and the surrounding area. Communication with Eva was really easy and uncomplicated, by the end of our time on the House boat, it felt as if we where good friends, definitely interested in a live meeting one day. I would definitely recommend exchanging with Eva and her family. This is a part of the world that we enjoy visiting.

What can I say about this amazing exchange? Not only it was a dream fulfilled to stay in a houseboat, but we receied such an amazinh hospitality from Eva and her family! You can feel the love and care in every detail of the house. Eva helped us with tips, lots of information on the house and even with the car parking situation. We had ana amazing time in Utrecht, which is a lovely town and a great place to visit other sites in the Netherlands. The cats were a joy to have around, made my daughter very happy. Eva's boat house is amazing, the view to the canal and the enthusiastic people in their canoes and kayaks are very nice. The house is spacious and comfortable. My preferred area was the balcony and the living room from there you can enjoy the sunsets. Micky and Loackie are the most friendly cats I have ever known. I'm very grateful to Eva for her hospitality and hope to host them in the future.

We had a great time on the brand new house boat if this lovely family. It’s really an once in a lifetime experience to sleep on a boat, watching the waves on the ceiling before you fall asleep. We were very lucky with the weather and made a lot of use of the balcony near the water to watch the rowers and boats go by whilst drinking a beer. Eva is a great host. She communicates well and is easy going. She left us a very sweet welcome package and arranged a cleaner for us. Hope to exchange again with this experienced and kind family!

We spent 6 days on Eva's family houseboat. We had a blast! We got to experience life on a boat in Utrecht and loved it. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. We got lucky with the weather and went swimming and paddling in the canal every day from the balcony. What a great experience! The kids loved playing with Lego, cats, and in the front yard. Eva is very responsive and friendly. We received a nice welcome package. This was one of our best home exchanges and we will be very happy to welcome this friendly family to our home in Liège soon.

We loved our stay on Evita’s and family houseboat! The kids loved the water slide going directly from the deck to the canal, the lego room and the hamster. We loved drinking a glass of wine on the deck at sunset, the noise of the water on the walls in the bedroom (so relaxing), watching the rowers while drinking coffee on the deck in the morning (excellent coffee machine by the way). And Utrecht is such a pretty city! Evita is super friendly and helpful. Super recommend

We really enjoyed the midweek on the houseboat of the Voditska family. Together with the quite large garden and the beautiful weather, it really felt like a piece of paradise in the middle of the city. And even though it may have been just a bit too cold, the children still dared to jump into the (ice-cold) water. We can really recommend a stay on this houseboat!

The houseboat was a very nice and welcoming home. We were greeted by a nice gift of Dutch specialities. The houseboat was like the pictures on the profile and at the same time so much more. We liked everything about it. It was a fun experience for all of us to stay here. The kids had fun with the cats and the adults liked the great espresso maker. It was great to follow the life on the canals from the livingroom. The location was perfect with several playgrounds nearby and a short walk to the city centre. Utrecht is a wonderful city and definitely worth visiting. It feels like a very safe and nice city to visit with children. We visited the Miffy Museum which was fun for the kids. We climbed the Dom Tower and walked the canals of the inner city. We could easily spend another week in Utrecht. We can really recommend Utrecht and Evas houseboat.

We spent 11 days on Eva and her family's boat in August 2021. Great place and a lovely family. It was a globe exchange but it felt more like a simultaneous exchange considering the effort they put in preperation and making us feel welcome. You could tell right away this is experienced and dedicated home exchangers. A French family lived there before us and they welcomed us, showed us everything gave us the keys and even prepared a welcome snack. Nice bonus. Communication with Eva was always very smooth, fast and straightforward. The boat is a fun place to live in. A bit special but convenient and functional. Comfortable beds and complete silence at night. Good kitchen equipment. Good bikes for everyone. And two nice cats. A trampoline in the front and a waterslide from the balcony. Our kids just loved it and so did we. The inner city of Utrecht is very nearby by bikes or by bus. The central station is just two bus stops away and you reach the museum area in 10 minutes by bike. The city of a Utrecht is a great Dutch city and a great starting point to explore the Netherlands. We can recommend this accommodation and this family to everyone. We might get back for a simultaneity exchange sometime.

In a few words, fantastic stay on Eva and Arjan's house boat. There was a lot of communication by email and WhatsApp before, during and after the trip and it was always very friendly. We loved everything, cooking (very well equipped by the way) while watching the kids paddle. Drinking our coffee on the terrace, enjoying the view and the boats or rowing. In the evening, it's even better, the place is relaxing and so calm. We enjoyed these 10 days with our family. A small thought for the friendly welcome of the neighbours. Echanger avec Eva, Arjan et les enfants a été un réél plaisir. La communication a été permanente et très facile car Eva parle français. Quelle expérience formidable de loger dans une maison bateau ! Utrecht est une ville très sympathique et proche d'Amsterdam. La maison d'Eva est à 30 minutes à pied de la gare puis 30 min de trajet en train. Aucune difficulté pour prendre le train car il y en a toutes les 10 minutes !Amsterdam est tout simplement magnifique ! Encore merci Eva et Arjan pour votre accueil chaleureux.
