General overview

Modern. light and spacious house in a quiet residential area. Located in Eindhoven, in the south of Holland. It has a total space of 130 m2 divided over three floors. From our home you have a great view on the Beatrixcanal. We are open for swaps in 2020 and 2021. We are interested in European destinations that can be reached by car. Our home is available in the Meivakantie (April, 18 until May,2). We are looking for an exchange at a maximum of 8 hours driving from our home (for 2 weeks) or 4-6 hours for a one week exchange. We are already booked for summer2020 and X-Mas 2020/2021. Excellent location to explore Holland and parts of Belgium and Germany: we are close to both the Belgian border (30 car minutes) and the German border (40 carminutes). Explore three countries in one holiday! Within one hour driving or less from Eindhoven: you will find three national Parks (Hoge Veluwe, Loonse Duinen and Grote Peel), several historic cities like Den Bosch, Utrecht, Dordrecht and Antwerpen (BE). Lots of interesting museums and zoo’s. Amsterdam and Rotterdam plus the historic city of Achen (GER) at 1 hour 15 minutes. Eindhoven itself has a lot to offer: many beautiful parks, interesting musea, a couple of natural swimming lakes. And the city centre is great for shopping and for foodies (so many restaurants. Strijp-S should not be missed: former Philips factories transformed into the cultural and design heart of Eindhoven

The space

Large livingroom with open plan kitchen and big dining table (seats 6 people). Great view at our garden and Beatrix canal at the backside of our livingroom. Sitting area with TV and DVD player plus HiFi set including record player. Separate toilet on this floor. Acces to the front and back garden and to our garage (underneath our house). First floor with 3 bedrooms. Master bedroom plus two single bedrooms. Bathroom with bath, toilet, shower and washing bassin. On this floor you will find our washing machine as well. On the second floor you will find the 4th bedroom with queensize bed (1,20 x 2 meters) and the rooftop terrace. Acces with stairs to all floors; no elevator

The government of Holland (Tweede Kamer) is also in The Hague World famous Keukenhof with blooming tulips and other flowers (Open from end of March until half of May) Scheveningen Beach and Madurodam (Dutch miniature city on a scale of 1:25) Leuven/Louvain (BE), one of the oldest university cities from Northern Europe Baraque Michel, Ofivat and Baraque de Fraiture (all in BE): if you are lucky you can go skiing here in winter! Options for both cross country skiing (langlaufen) and slope skiing (best options in January or February)

Getting around

Local shops are at walking distance. City centre at 15 min biking distance. Close to Eindhoven Airport. Good connection to the city by bus, by car and by bike. We have 4 bikes available for guests. Good connections to other cities by car and train. Den Bosch at 30 car minutes; Amsterdam at 1 hour and 15 minutes. Close to Belgian and German border.

We are a family of 4. My name is Stienke (48) and I am an outdoor life coach. I am married to Merijn (50) who works at a big tech company in Eindhoven. We have two daughters of 16 and 14 years old. Their names are Marrit and Simmer. We have done more than 20 homeswaps since 2008. With our family we have done several exchanges in the Netherlands and Belgium. An we also went to England (twice), Germany (twice), France (twice), Denmark (twice), Scotland and Sweden. We have a cat called Mickey who is very friendly and likes cuddling. Our favourite countries are: United Kingdom (England and Scotland), Denmark, Sweden, Germany and for shorter trips Belgium and the Netherlands
