General Overview

*What you will love about this home* Our home is suited for all singles, couples, and families, especially those traveling with children. The living room has a floor-to-wall window opening directly onto the garden, which gives a lovely indoor-outdoor feeling and lots of light. What you will love about this neighborhood Lübars is a unique part of Berlin, well known for being one of the city’s last areas with a true village character, combining open countryside, historic farmsteads, and nature reserves with easy access to urban life. It’s especially popular with families and nature lovers who want space and fresh air without leaving the city. The neighborhood itself is quiet, green, and very family-friendly. You’ll find parks, playgrounds, walking paths, and open fields within easy walking distance, along with local cafés and small shops for everyday needs. *Right nearby, we regularly enjoy as a family* A sandy lake beach, perfect for swimming, picnics, and relaxed summer days A working farm (Bauernhof) that Lübars is famous for, with animals, playgrounds, and seasonal activities for children A Freizeitpark-style leisure area with playgrounds, wide green spaces, and plenty of room for kids to run, bike, and explore Scenic walking and biking paths through fields, forests, and protected green areas These places are easily accessible on foot or by bike, and many are also reachable via local public transport. For trips further afield, driving can be convenient but isn’t essential. Within Berlin more broadly, which we often explore with our children, you’ll find: Countless playgrounds and large parks Family-friendly museums and cultural attractions Public swimming pools, lakes, and outdoor leisure areas Lively neighborhoods full of cafés, bakeries, markets, and international food Berlin has reliable public transport, making it easy for families to get around without a car. From Lübars, it’s simple to explore all sides of the city — whether you’re spending the day outdoors nearby or heading into the city for culture, history, and food. Both summer and autumn are wonderful seasons to experience Berlin as a family. *Additional information* As a family, we spend a lot of time outdoors and love how easy it is to mix nature, play, city exploration — and cozy moments at home. On a typical weekend, we might go for a bike ride or walk through the fields, stop at a playground, or head to the nearby lake beach for swimming, sand play, and picnics in summer. The local working farm is a big favorite with our kids — visiting animals, playing on the grounds, and enjoying seasonal activities. Just around the corner, there’s a very popular ice cream shop, which has become a regular stop after walks or playground time and is always a hit with the kids. We also love the Freizeitpark-style green spaces, which are well known locally for flying kites and watching paragliders when the weather is right. Kids love running freely across the open fields, while adults enjoy the wide views and relaxed atmosphere. At home: how we like to spend time together Home is very much part of the fun. In good weather, we often: Set up a projector in the garden for backyard movie nights Light the fire pit and make marshmallows, tell stories, and enjoy cozy evenings outside Pitch a small tent in the garden for kid-friendly “camping nights” with sleeping bags and snacks These little rituals are some of our children’s favorite memories and make the house feel like a true family base. Our family’s favourite local attractions The lake beach for swimming, sand play, and summer picnics The working farm (Bauernhof) with animals, playgrounds, and seasonal events Large parks and leisure areas ideal for biking, kite flying, and open-air play Watching paragliders take off and land on windy days Exploring Berlin’s Kinder cafés, family-friendly museums, and cat cafés Our family’s favourite places to eat & shop A local ice cream shop just around the corner Neighborhood cafés and bakeries for breakfast or cake after a walk Kinder cafés where kids can play while adults relax Cat cafés for a fun, cozy outing with children Casual, family-friendly restaurants and international food spots across Berlin Local markets and small shops for everyday needs Festivals & seasonal highlights Throughout the year, there are local seasonal events and family-friendly festivals, especially in spring and summer. Berlin also offers city-wide festivals, open-air events, museum programs for kids, and Christmas markets — all easy to reach by public transport and fun to explore as a family.
