General overview
My light, open home is an easy 150m stroll to the beautiful white sands of New Brighton beach. Enjoy a bbq on the verandah, overlooking Marshalls Creek. Use the paddle board or kayak, or stroll along the beach to the gorgeous Salty Mangrove cafe and the weekly New Brighton farmers market. Ocean Shores Country Club is an easy 5 minute walk away for golf, lawn bowls or a meal at the bistro. Minutes from both Brunswick Heads and Byron Bay and less than an hour from the Gold Coast.
** I am new to this platform so don’t have any feedback as yet, however I have been a home exchanger (on another platform) for 20 years and have had many amazing exchanges. I’m happy to provide references from these.
The space
Depending on whether the exchange is for the whole house or the downstairs studio, there are different options available.
Whole house:
Three bedrooms (1 king, 2 queen)
Three bathrooms plus laundry with extra shower/toilet - washing machine and dryer
Separate playroom for kids
Open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area
Large verandah with bbq and views over river
Outdoor seating area and access to kayaks and standup paddle board
Off street parking
Downstairs studio only (suitable for 2 people and non-simultaneous or hospitality exchange):
Queen bed
Small kitchen with full size fridge and cook plate
Bathroom with washing machine (note, no dryer)
Outdoor seating area and access to kayaks and standup paddle board
Off street parking
Guest access
My home has stairs to access the main living areas and two bedrooms.
The downstairs studio has one step to enter.
Notes
I am currently finishing renovations and painting the house, so the photos I have posted are ones I have taken this morning - photos and artwork haven't yet been rehung. The decks and trim are yet to be stained, so look a bit shabby! Please excuse the mess in the exterior photos - it's a product of the painting!

Neighbourhood
New Brighton is a quiet little seaside village on the north coast of NSW. It is predominantly made up of young families, with some holiday homes and is a friendly and safe place to stay. It is ideally situated to explore this region, with easy day trips to the Gold Coast, the beautiful hinterlands and Byron Bay is a 15 minute drive away. Brisbane is approximately 1.5 hours drive away.
Getting to my home
The closest airport is Gold Coast (OOL) which is approximately 35 drive away. A car is needed as public transport is limited in this area. It may be possible to do a simultaneous car exchange, if it works for both of us. I have a Suburu Outback 2022 - with car seats for both infants and older children, if required.
Nearest airport
Gold Coast Airport (OOL) is approximately 35 minutes drive away.
Ballina Byron Airport (BNK) is approximately 30 minutes drive away.
There are usually more flight options in/out of Gold Coast airport.

People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.

New Brighton beach - 150m from my house
Dining area looking out to the verandah. The dining table is a beautiful old pine table, with seating for 8 people. I have a child's chair and a high chair at the table currently, but can replace with 8 chairs, if required.
The kitchen/dining/living area is open plan and leads onto the verandah.
The kitchen, with toddlers stand (can be removed if not needed). The kitchen has a coffee machine, microwave, full size fridge, cooktop and oven, Sodastream, kettle, 4-slice toaster and plate/cutlery settings for 8. Lots of kids plastic plates and cups
Master bedroom - king bed. There is currently a cot in this room, which we use when my kids are visiting. It can be used, if required, or removed if not needed. I have recently painted the interior and exterior of my house, so pictures and artwork are missing at the moment!
Master bedroom ensuite.
Bedroom 2 - queen bed, access to verandah. Sliding security screen doors for ventilation on warm summer nights. Mirrored wardrobe (not shown), blackout curtains (not shown)
Bathroom 2 - Bath, toilet, shower, hand basin.
Bbq area on the verandah
Verandah setting overlooking Marshalls Creek. Perfect for afternoon bbq in summer!
The perfect spot for an afternoon bbq, overlooking Marshalls Creek.
Bedroom 3 - Downstairs studio. This bedroom is included in the full house, if doing a simultaneous exchange, or can be available as a separate option for non-simultaneous or hospitality exchanges for 2 people. It has a separate external door, or is also connected to the house internally. When I offer the studio, by itself, for an exchange, the internal door will be locked, so there will be no access to the rest of the home.
Queen bed, 2 seater lounge.
Studio looking out towards the Marshalls Creek - the water can be seen just above the outdoor setting.
Studio bathroom - shower, toilet, hand basin, washing machine.
Studio kitchen. Full size fridge/freezer, sink, single hotplate and combination microwave/oven. Cutlery and place settings for 2.
The street view of my house and car. Painting of decks and trim has not yet been completed!
The back of my house - please excuse the mess! I am in the process of painting and staining the house. Photos will be updated as soon as I have finished. To show the studio area, downstairs, plus the verandah and bbq area upstairs.
I have converted one upstairs room to a playroom for my grandchildren. They love it.
Kids playroom - upstairs.
A fleet of modern vehicles are included in every exchange! ;)
A baby gate is at the top of the stairs, making it safe for babies and toddlers.
