General overview

Welcome in our bright and comfy home in the middle of the Netherlands, just 10 minutes from Utrecht and 30 minutes from Amsterdam. It is the perfect spot to relax and unwind after exploring everything Holland has to offer. We have a large, romantic garden with veggies, fruit trees (feel free to pick!), flowers and chickens. Our neighbours' horses often come and say hi as well, and we have a diva of a cat. You are welcome to use our car(s) and bicycles as well!

The space

Our living room with open kitchen is a light and welcoming space, with a built in couch in the window sill that allows you to relax and spy on the neighbours at the same time. The back wall consists of folding glass accordeon doors that can be opened up completely towards the garden. We have one bedroom with a kingsize bed, one children's bedroom , a room with closet space / washer / dryer, and a spacious room in the attic that functions as an art studio at the moment. There is one bathroom with toilet and another separate toilet downstairs. Officially we have two bedrooms now, but if needed we can create more sleeping spaces (we have a sleeping couch and mattresses that can be used).

Guest access

You have acces to the whole house and front- and back garden. The house consists of three floors.

Notes

We have a cat and chickens. If you love animals we would be more than happy to leave them with you, if not we can discuss other options for them to temporarily go somewhere else.

Neighbourhood

We live in a small, tranquil, beautiful, green village surrounded by nature. However, within a few minutes by bike or car you will reach towns with all the stores and amenities you need. Utrecht is only 10-15 min away and has so much to offer!

Getting to my home

Depending on where you come from you can either fly into Schiphol and take a train or car to our area. Otherwise you could also uses international trains to reach different cities nearby.

Getting around

While here you are welcome to use our car(s) and bicycles! We have two cars, one manual and one automatic. We have an electric bicycle and a normal bicycle that you can use. The nearest train station is about 10 min drive / bike ride away (Utrecht Overvecht).

Claire

We are a young and adventurous family of four, Jay (30, engineer and fashion designer), Claire (33, doctor and artist), Leopold (3, explorer and lover of excavators and animals) and Aurelia (1, the real boss of the family). We live in a beautiful green village in the middle of the Netherlands, just outside of Utrecht. We love to explore and to take our kids along on our travels. We are a mix of Dutch / Surinam / Indonesian and French and have both lived in several countries during our life and are open to many destinations! We are excited to explore the options of home swapping on this platform! We also love animals very much, so if you need some animal sitters: we would be more than happy to do that!
