Neighbourhood
In Bolungarvík there's a swimming pool as in all towns in Iceland 😂 There's a grocery store, a coffee house /pub, a restaurant, gas station nature museum, fish factory, dairy factory that makes lactose free products and was the first to do so in Iceland 20 years ago. Theres also a fish oil pills factory. Recently there was built a cliff hanging out bridge on top of Bolafjall, wich on clear sky days offers a magnificent wiew over the fjords to the far west, in the direction of Greenland. Breathtaking wiew 🤗 In Ísafjörður the largest populated town of the Westfjords (only 15 minutes drive) there's the best Fish restaurant in Iceland Tjöruhúsið.(Make sure to make a reservation) There's also skiing in Ísafjörður. Several restaurants and shops.
The waterfall Dynjandi is a good hour drive from Bolungarvík, big white waterfall.
Nearest airport
In Iceland it is Keflavík international airport.
And domestic flight from Reykjavik to Ísafjörður.
Getting around
You would have to rent a car in the Westfjords. Public transport is not a thing here 😂

There's me Valrun, my husband Arnar. Our youngest daughter still lives with us. We have two small Shih tzu dogs. We have 3 grandchildren. We are Icelanders, but have lived in Aarhus DK for 18 years now. We have swapped houses earlier trough a site for swapping homes in Denmark and Iceland.
