General Overview

Cozy, comfortable, organic mountain home nestled in the aspens on a quiet cul-de-sac. We value simplicity and function over glitz and sparkle.

The Space

We have a fenced backyard with a view of the Indian Peaks from the deck. Upstairs there is one large bedroom with a king bed, a smaller bedroom with a queen, a bathroom with tub, and a laundry room. Downstairs is another double bed in a den area, and a bathroom with shower. There is a wood stove and electric baseboards for heat.

Neighbourhood

Nederland, Colorado is a small mountain town of about 1500 people, 30 minutes from Boulder, at an altitude of about 8300 feet (2500 meters). We live on a quiet cul-de-sac, a short 5 minute walk from a small shopping center with a grocery store, liquor store, yoga center, carousel (really!), Mexican restaurant and a microbrewery (among other things). There are 2 more brewpubs in town, as well as a smokehouse, a Nepalese restaurant, a bagel shop, a wood-fired pizza place, and a couple coffee shops, all within a short walk. There are also 3 dispensaries, if you're into that. Our local ski mountain, Eldora, is about a 10 minute drive. Rocky Mountain National Park is 45 minutes away. There are countless hiking and mountain bike trails right out the door, or within a short drive. There is a park right across the street with a playground, kids' fishing pond, and basketball court. There's great fishing in the reservoir (5 min walk) or in the creek that runs through the park.

Getting to my home

Nederland is 30 minutes west (and 3000 ft up) from Boulder, Colorado. Get here by flying into Denver International (DEN), taking the AB bus to Boulder, and the NB to Nederland, and walk 5 minutes from the bus stop. You can also Uber/Lyft (a bit pricey), or rent a car.

Getting Around

Groceries, beer/wine/liquor, marijuana, yoga, restaurants, brewpubs, playground, and lots of other things are within 5-10 minute walk. We have a car available to borrow, as well.

We are an adventurous couple in our 50s who love to travel and meet new people. We enjoy sailing, hiking, playing music, cooking, camping, tie-dying and hanging with our awesome dog Roxy. We have a 19 year-old daughter that's recently gone off to college.
