Neighbourhood

Our Cabin is in the mountais of a small village called Ørsta. It is about 20 minutes drive to the village, and here you can find shops, restaurants, cafes and so on. You will need a car to get to and from the village and the cabin.

By the cabin there is a small lake for fishing, swimming, SUP, kayaking etc. If you prefer salt water it is a five minutes drive down to the fjord (Hjørundfjorden). Here it is also possible to take the ferry over to the other side of the fjord, and here you can find places like Trandal, Øye and Urke. Many of our most beautiful hikes are at these places. There are plenty of beautiful hikes right from the cabin aswell, all year around. 

Other places you can drive to from our place: 
Stryn, Loen, Olden about 1 hour
Åndalsnes and Trollstigen about 2,5 hours
Geiranger about 2,5 hour or 1 hour to Hellesylt and ferry from there.
Ålesund 1,5 hours
Bergen 6 hours
Trondheim 6 hours
Oslo 7,5 hours

Nearest airport

Ørsta/Volda airport (a wideroe destination) is 25 minutes away by car. Ålesund airport is abut 1,5 hour away by car/bus.

Family of four who live in the mountains of Norway and loves to travel! Marte is a doctor and Erik is a contruction engineer. The kids are active, the girl (10) do gymnastics, ballet, singing and drama, and for the boy (12) its all about soccer. We all love outdoor life all year and skiing in the winter.
