General overview
It is an old farmhouse with several apartments, with our apartment on the ground floor. The apartment is our "holiday apartment" because it is my husband's parents' house and we can stay there at any time when various jobs etc. need to be done.
The space
The living room resembles an old farmhouse parlor with a large tiled stove and a fireplace, both of which can be lit in the kitchen.
In the children's room there is a bunk bed and a pull-out sofa bed. Next door is the master bedroom with a double bed. From the bedroom, as well as from the kitchen, you have access to the bathroom.
In the kitchen there is an old stove with which you can light the fireplace. The large tiled stove is, as already mentioned, also lit from the kitchen. Here it is even possible to bake your own pizza or bread in the oven. A small dishwasher and a small washing machine are also in the kitchen.
From the children's room and from the master bedroom you can get into the garden to the garden house, which you are welcome to use. There is a swing for the children at the garden house and the nearest playground is only about 150m away.
The apartment is on one level and on one floor.
The owner of the house is a master carpenter. Some pieces of furniture are lovingly handmade.
Guest access
The apartment is on the ground floor.

Neighbourhood
Görwihl is a village in the beautiful Hotzenwald, the southeastern part of the Black Forest, with around 4000 inhabitants. It is located at an altitude of 612m and the landscape of the Hotzenwald is characterized by plateaus of various sizes that slope down towards the south in terraced steps. Most of the districts are located on such plateaus.
Görwihl is very rural with wonderful hiking opportunities and lots of nature. The beautiful Höllbach waterfalls can also be reached on foot from the apartment. The little ones also get their money's worth, because there is a beautiful children's playground about 150 meters from the apartment and a small indoor swimming pool opposite (Aquihl-Bad). If you love nature and want to switch off, Görwihl is the right place for you.
In winter you can find ski slopes and cross-country ski trails in the vicinity. The next largest ski area is the Feldberg.
Getting to my home
Airport: Zurich and Basel (both Swiss cities with airports) are each about 1 hour away by car. Since Görwihl is in a rural area, it is best reached by car.
It is not so easy to reach the apartment by public transport, although of course it is impossible in some places 😉
Nearest airport
Zurich, Switzerland
Basel, Switzerland
Getting around
There is a small organic supermarket within walking distance (5 minutes) and a large supermarket at the entrance to the village (10 minutes on foot or 2 minutes by car).
Since Görwihl and the apartment are in a rural location, a car is recommended. It is not so easy to reach the apartment by public transport.
