General Overview

Welcome to our home. It is located 8 min by bus from Bergen city center. When sunny in Bergen it has nice views and a sunny terrace. Close by is mount Løvstakken, a short hike and fabolouse views. There is a lake for swimming less than 10 min walking distance. There is also a playground for smaller children in the neighbourhood (80 meters). Bergen is Norways second largest city, and is surrounded by seven mountains. You can pretty much walk anywhere in the city center. There Are several nice hikes. And wonderful Flåm and Rosendal is good days trips. In winter you can ski in Voss, 1,5 HR by car or train.

The Space

The house is an upside-down house i have Been told. You enter on the first floor, which holds an entrance, a bedroom, bathroom and Open plan livingroom and kitchen. Downstairs you will find three bedrooms, a hangout area, bathroom and laundry room. First bedroom has a singel bed, with a drawer bed, so two can sleep there. Smallest room has a 120x200 m bed. And a desk. It’s small But cute. Third bedroom has a king size bed. Upstairs bedroom has a singel bed. So as it is today our house slepes 6. But we can easily add one or two comfortable.

Guest Access

2 floors. You can drive to the door, But you have to park in the designated Area (50 m). Bergen is not flat, our house has a an uphill walk. But if you take the bus, you can choose from different buses and avoid uphill alltoghter.

Neighbourhood

There is a small grocery store close by, and a mall with all you need 10 min walk. There is a lake to swim in, and playgrounds. City center is within minutes reach by bus. It is nice and quiet.

Getting to my home

You can take a bus or Bybane from the AirPort. Or taxi. I would give a detailed description for each of our guests, depending on means of transportarion.

Ida Sofie

Family of seven, Ida and Torjus (1984) Lars and Martine (2011), Josefine (2013) and Samson and Jakob (2015). Ida is an attorney and Torjus is a master-builder. We have three homes to choose (or combine) for exchange. I did a home exchange in 2016 via intervac, and it was a success. However, life happende, covid happende and every year I wanted to try again, But always felt like I couldn’t. But HEY why Not. Our homes Are very normal homes, we have what you would need and the locations aren’t to bad. Our primary exchange Home is a rowhouse in Bergen - less than 10 minutts by bus to the city center. Bergen is a Hanseatic city, and world famous UNESCO heritage Bryggen is only a few minutts away. Bergen is also known as gateway to the fjords, and there Are daily trips to Flåm and Nærøyfjorden and several other beautiful places. For personal guiding in Norwegian, Portogues or English I highly recommend my dear friend Merete - www.saintguideservices.no she is a wonderful and knowlegable High school teacher with a dedication for travel. Our cabin is in Barlindbotn, Eikefjord if you Are more of a nature and solitude searching person. More pictures to come. Please Ask us anything!
