General overview

My home gives off a very warm feeling and is super cozy! I’ve been living here the last 5 years and have made it my oasis little by little. It’s truly a relaxing place with an amazing view. The sun rises are probably my favorite part of each day. Located less than half a mile from the iconic Presidente Masaryk known for its high end shopping and amazing restaurants and also less than a mile away from two major shopping centers (Miyana and Antara). There is also a hospital walking distance, just in case, and a Sam’s Club/ Walmart and multiple grocery stores walking distance.

The space

This is a luxury one bedroom one bath condo in the upscale neighborhood of Polanco, it’s perfect for solo travelers or couples. There is an office space nook with a printer and a selfie light available making it perfect for remote workers (high speed internet included- I’ve never had a problem and my clients are spread throughout the world). Please note that there is no A/C unit but I live in one of the top 3 floors of a 24 floor building. The last five years I’ve spent here, I’ve never felt the need to get one because there is always a very nice breeze from where I am located. During the winter, it doesn’t get too cold but I do have a heater available (upon request) and heated blankets. The shower door is in the process of being replaced but there is a curtain in place that should give you no problem for the time being! You will also have my trusted house keeper come clean up x2 a month, she’s fantastic. There is an inflatable mattress in the laundry room should you need it. There is a mini bar stalked with my favorite mezcal and tequila- feel free to have as much as you like. Mi casa es tu casa!

Guest access

My building has 24/7 security and the building is composed of majority ex-pats living in Mexico City. The HOA rules stipulate that only guests staying longer than one month can have access to utilities such as the gym, game room, event center and rooftop terrace. If you are wanting to stay less time, I apologize for the inconvenience. Upon arrival reception will ask you for an ID ( this can be an expired ID or any form of ID) that they will hold until your departure. In exchange, they will provide you with a badge that will be your access to come in and out of the building and access utilities (applicable for those staying longer than a month). You can have packages delivered here, super secure. If you order any kind of food service, please note you will have to pick it up in the lobby with reception, they do not allow Uber Eats/Rappi services to come up to the units for security reasons.

Neighbourhood

Polanco is close to a lot of things: - Castillo de Chapultepec (former President’s castle that is now a museum) - Parque Lincoln (cute park to walk around) - Presidente Masaryk- the busiest strip in all of Mexico City where you will find the iconic “‘Mexico Mi Amor” sign, popular for selfies - not too far from other cool neighborhoods such as Roma Norte and Condesa, popular with the tourists Also, Polanco is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in all of Mexico City. Specific to my building, there are always cops/ security outside and around the premise. Lastly, the U.S. embassy is currently only 15 minutes from my place. They are in the process of moving the embassy to Polanco which will probably make it a 5 minute drive! Luckily for all other countries, most of the embassies are in this neighborhood so you should be fine :)

Nearest airport

MEX are the initials, only book flights from here. There is another airport in Toluca but it’s FAR. Please only book from MEX airport. Without traffic, the ride is about 15-20 minutes from my place. With traffic, please plan ahead because it can be anywhere from 1 hour- 1 hour and 45 minutes. Note traffic hours are the heaviest from 8am-11am and from 3pm-7pm.

Getting around

Uber and Didi are easy to use and cheap to get around. There is also a subway stop walking distance from my place but don’t recommend you take it if you’re not used to a subway system, it can be intimidating as no one really speaks English, it’s more of the locals that use it. If you plan to use it, please do not be flashy or have your phone/ purse out of your sight. There is also city bus that stops right in front of my building, recommend you use if you’re not in a hurry to get somewhere in particular. Make sure you have pesos on you for this.
